Do You Lose More Hairs During The Day Than You Do At Night?

I seem to lose most of my daily hairs during daytime and as the day progresses I lose less and less. Im shedding roughly 150 hairs a day. Especially in the mornings when I wake up I can shake 20 - 30 hairs out in the first couple of hours. Is this normal?

how many hair do you find on pillow?
I don't find any, although I am a very restless sleeper.. I fall asleep at the top of the bed on my side and wake up the next morning at the bottom of the bed star fished lol. When I get up I go straight to the bathroom and run my hands through my hair and get a fair amount of hair. Once I hit about 30 - 40 hairs fallen it tends to gradually slow down until at night I lose very few hairs.

I lose the most in the shower. Does not matter what time of the day.

During my long, long minoxidil shed I lost 150 - 200 hairs daily. Since starting my current regimen it has decreased to in between 130 - 170 hairs but it has fluctuated frequently.. The past two days I've lost roughly 120 but so far I've only lost 90 today. I don't think hair length matters, at least in my case because I rarely leave the house and spend a lot of time in the bathroom counting and estimating how many hairs I've lost that day. This sh*t has taken over my life :(

I know people talk about not being harsh to your hair but is it a thing that you are more prone to pulling your hair when shampooing if you have hair loss problems or is it just a lot of the hair you lost during the day that got stuck in your hair? I guess miniaturized are possible victims but overall I don't see to lose much by pulling my hair, maybe if a comb or something get stuck in the hair but that seems like a really quick and forceful movement (and that is mostly, as said, miniaturized hair).

welcome to my life bro. it just sucks. in fact i wanna go out have fun (im 25) and sometimes im in a good mood... and then im going through my hair and baaaaam 5 hairs in my hand and the day is ruined.

but losing at max 40-50 in a shower is nothing. im losing every morning between 120-200 hairs in shower.
How do you wash your hair? do you keep shampooing as long as you have hairs between your fingers or are you just quickly washing and losing 40 hairs?

I shampoo my hair for about 3 - 4 minutes and I don't do it rough but enough to lather my hair in it. How can you be losing so many hairs? Are you on minoxidil?

no im not on minoxidil. just on finasteride since oktober 2012. i applied minoxidil in 2013 for 5 month and it destroyed - in my opinion - my temples.

btw: just wadhed my hair. counted 127... blowdrying another 11. and still its a progress (lol). the last 7 month i lost 250 hairs every shower every day

Holy sh*t. And those hairs in the sink were from this morning alone? I think you need something stronger than finasteride... How is your hair looking? What norwood are you?

For the amount of hair you lose you still have great hair! Even better than mine and I'm only 20. Maybe you are just a shedder and all those hairs are actually growing back?

It must regrow to a certsin extant, because - as i said - i lose an average of 150-300 hairs a day for the last 6 years. but not all is growing back. i was Norwood 1 with density of a young greek god. the images are in a bad light and i can tell you, that you have way more density than me. im losing massively diffuse and my temples are receeding

I was meaning you are better off than me in terms or the norwood scale but diffuse thinning must really suck. I'm fortunate that its not in my family, just receding hairlines and thinning crowns.

It's quite normal. T & DHT are highest in the morning, peaking between 9 AM - 1 PM or so, then they fall towards the day. Estrogen peaks around 6 PM in the afternoon.

I get the most intense itching between 9 - 11 in the morning, I can feel my scalp crawling during that time and have to scratch my head several times. I never get this in the afternoon.

It's kinda useful in a sense. If you still get that itch in the morning, you can tell that your treatments are not doing crap and that you will still be losing hair. The itch is a result of the inflammation caused by DHT, as long as you still feel that it's bad news.

Definitely by day. Though i think my shedding is stopping. Four days ago i could count 20 hairr when i was applying minoxidil and in the shower, now i count three (minoxidil), and maybe ten in the shower. Last year i didnt shed at all, at lest i couldnt see (minoxidil or shower), but three is ok i guess. Four days of clearly diminished shed, is it too early to assume that the shed is over?
