It's been 4 days since I started taking Pantethine and today my skin looks less oily then usual. It's still oily to the touch but the oil seems less viscous than it normally is. I'm adding in l-cysteine soon at 500 mg so I'll see if that has an effect. Obviously no hair differences yet because hair is much less reactive than skin is.

Depends on what form of b5 you take. I'm taking 900 mg of Pantethine because it's a common acne dose but no one here knows how much it would take to replicate the study.

From one of Squeegee's studies

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5891029/

"Taken together, our data support a scenario in which intrafollicular autophagy is eminently targetable for the therapeutic modulation of human hair growth. In line with this concept, another agent that positively regulates autophagy, caffeine [49,50], is sold as a hair growth–promoting cosmeceutical and has been shown to also prolong anagen and stimulate the proliferation of hair MK [51]. Autophagy inducers, which are the focus of intense ongoing research efforts [5255], are therefore promising agents for the treatment of hair growth disorders and drug-induced hair loss phenomena characterized by premature catagen induction [56]."

So, I guess the good news is that this autophagy thing may be used to treat hair loss and it is being intensely studied, but are there any autophagy inducers (besides caffeine) that we could use now?

Rapamycin has been getting press for inducing authophagy. The anti-aging folks are all geeked about. You can read about it around those forums. Have also heard that dude Peter Attia talking about it on some podcasts.

This mouse study squeegee posted shows results from applying rapamycin topically. I've though about trying to get some rapamycin powder and mixing in a topical once a week (seems like consensus is you want to apply a single dose ~weekly of rapamycin). I'm currently trying to figure out the world of ordering molecules from China.... alternatively you can get a prescription for pills of it, it was originally approved as a organ transplant drug

Rapamycin, a drug that suppress the immune system.. hmmm given the current state of affairs, I’ll pass.

@pegasus2 I cant find your rely on AKG and AKB topical dosage.

My concern with AKG is that it's highly acidic. My skin started shedding majorly and hair with it when I applied .5%. I had literally lumps of skin coming out when I was massaging.
