Not eating and plenty of hydrating. After a few days you should be like new.

Here is what I use, its a product line that I have a lot of confidence in and it has worked for me. It's probably not as frilly as the one above, but it is affordable and it does the trick. It contains soluble and non-soluble fiber supplementation, plus a laxative to draw liquids out of the intestinal walls and soften intestinal plaques and buildup. The combination of this and the fiber, over a two week period, sweeps you real good... there was some ugly dark sh*t that came out of my bowels.

It also comes with a little eating guide telling you what foods are helpful during the two week process, and which to avoid.

Thanks so much. I am looking into it. Did you have trouble at work? I mean did you get the sudden unexpected hershey squirts? That's the only thing I am worried about.
I am on vacation in BC right now and thought about buying something similar at the health food store but worried about the hershey's going down the hill on the snowboard. You get my drift?

hehe... NO, Hershey squirts are not a worry. Quite the opposite... they recommend you drink a LOT of water while on detox.

The fiber supplements actually bind up the stool and absorb liquids. My stool came out big, and firm, and came out quick and easily, and looked terrible.

The enzymatic therapy product has three components... a Milk Thistle supplement that increases bile flow, a laxative that draws moisture OUT of the intestines that softens the plaques, and the fiber that does the scraping. The fiber also stimulates the intestinal walls... the shits felt GREAT.

It does take some dietary discipline to get through, but it really feels great when you finish.

LMAO. "big and firm" and " The shits felt GREAT" you kill me. :x

So what kind of dietary discipline are we talking about?

Avoid: Dairy (milk, butter, cheese, ALL dairy), red meat, simple carbs (pasta, and they really suggest against eating bread and potato), caffeine, alcohol, cured meats, fruit juice.

Eat MORE: Chicken, turkey, fish, legumes (peas, beans, lentils, etc), olive oil, whole grains (brown rice, quinoa, spelt, oats), lots of water, vegetables, greens, nuts (except peanuts), vegetable juice.

The dietary won't completely blow the two week cleanse, but it will make it less effective on the days you indulge.

I ordered this one today:

What's funny is that Klee Irwin guy who does the infomercials has pretty much sold me on super vitamins, and colon cleansing. Unfortunately for Klee I didn't buy any of his products.

What's funnier is, as I found out when my product arrived, is that Nature's Secret is a brand of Irwin Naturals. (Yes that Irwin.)

Does anyone know how many times one can use a colon cleanser regimen? I mean is it safe to do this continously?

I just bought the Ultimate Cleanse by Naures Secret and noticed it is a 2 step formula. One for the herbs and one for the fiber. Are you supposed to take both pills at the same time? Or finish one bottle, then after that whole bottle is done move onto the second bottle to initiate the second step? The directions arent very clear about it!

Does a cleanse of this kind really have a point?

YES.

First off, cleanses improve nutrient absorbtion. They remove fermenting mucous and plaque on the colon walls, which boosts the immune system. They stimulate the colon and speed excretion of toxins. They help reduce some of the environmental causes of colon cancer. They enhance bile flow and accelerate the excretion of these toxic secretions that the liver has removed from your blood.

But most of all, you really have to try one before you pass judgement. They really do make you feel better, I always feel lighter afterwards, more mental focus, sleep better, less gas when I crap, more energy.

I agree that after a cleanse you need to take a probiotic. Post cleanse is a great window to supplement positive changes in the flora of your digestive tract.

Great post Gardener.

I am currently doing the herbal trimm tea before bedtime and wake up and to acidophilous. It's got pro biotics in it. What do you think of that?

Also, any thought s on Ejuva?
