Or you can get a pill cutter. I got mine from Wal-Mart (their site is down for an upgrade, so I can't link you) that looks like this

http://bit.ly/kvXc0Q

Super-duper easy to cut this way. It cuts through 99% of the pill and leaves a tiny membrane of the pill holding the 2 halves together, so you just rotate it 90 degrees and make another cut. TADA! The pill is in 4ths :)

That would make life easier. Not in US so Wal-Mart out. I've noticed Boots have one online so may pop into their shop this afternoon and see if they have any in store.

I hope so! :) On the other hand making fake pills would cost virtually nothing...
I got a free pill organizer, not a pen (better had been a free pill cutter )

Can't wait until my next order to what I get free. It's like a Lucky Bag!

Started putting Miconazole Nitrate on my hairline. I won't know about regrowth for some time but it's effect on growth in three days is quite staggering. I really am amazed.

forgot to say that some one made a valid point in another post elsewhere. Why fake a cheap pill/brand when you could fake Proscar or Propecia??

Good point there...

However, there's still some confusion.. Look at these two bellow:
http://www.unitedpharmacies.co.uk/product.php?productid=995&cat=0&page=1
http://www.unitedpharmacies.co.uk/product.php?productid=9&cat=0&page=1

Both are Proscar® made by MSD, how come the price difference is more than double?

good question. Not aware of that. I'll ask them! I think Merck stuff is more likely to be fake because of the potential profit where as Dr Reddy's are cheap to start with. UP are clearly not hiding anything because they are obvious selling both?

Strange though.

I already asked, here it goes:

My email:
Hello, I was wondering, what is the difference between these two Proscar drugs:
http://www.unitedpharmacies.co.uk/produ ... t=0&page=1
http://www.unitedpharmacies.co.uk/produ ... t=0&page=2
They both seem to be made by same company (MSD) but the price difference is huge, why is that? Thanks.
Their answer:

I will. It's a logical question if you are considering branded finasteride and the retailer appear to have two version priced very differently!

Have you started on your finasteride yet?

Ok, just let me know their answer :)

Yep, I've started finasteride ("Fistide" from UP) on May 1 (so it's two weeks now). Since then I haven't experience any side effects or any change in how my body feels whatsoever (so I'm getting paranoid the pills might be fake ). In the last two weeks I've noticed a bunch of new hairs growing in my temples where it was slick bald for like 3-4 years, just praying those new hairs keep growing... But this is probably the result from Rogaine as today marks two months I'm using it.

I will post a picture update tomorrow in my story thread.

..just took my first finast quarter about an hour ago. I am really really nervous! I suppose worst case scenario I can stop it whenever I want.

Mmmm, 3 hours after first quarter and tongue tingling a little, a slight irony taste in the mouth and when breathing through the nose it feels a little difference.

Of course, it may have absolutely nothing to do with the Finast and more to do with the cold I thought I was starting to develop yesterday! Tongue tingling is odd though and I think I read that this is common with finasteride for some people (initially).

I don't want to sound rude, but come on - you're clearly looking for side effects so you can stop taking it... :)
You can read my story and see I was also paranoid about the "initial shed" etc.. I was also linking my headaches, eye tiredness/pain, drowsiness to Finasteride, but I now realize it was probably all in my head... It's two weeks now, I don't look for any sides and I don't feel any, I just take my finasteride quarters as vitamins every morning with my coffee, and hope for the best :)

I know you are right. I'm certainly very worried about the sides but I've been taking P*R*O*C*E*R*I*N (Saw Palmetto) for 6 months and that's supposed to have iffy sides too and I've experienced nothing.

I also feel a tad guilty too. A; because I feel I'm cheating and B; I ain't telling the 'ball & chain' 'cos she will never understand!

Read your story. Definitely looks like you are making progress. Big congrats!

Why do you feel guilty?
Well, I'm also hiding my treatments from my family (maybe stupid, but I somehow feel it embarrassing...), but I think if I get good progress/regrowth, I will tell them and I don't care what they'll think, I'm only 24 and I want to keep my hair for as long as possible.

How old are you, how bad is your hairloss, do you have a story on these forums?
I suggest taking baseline pictures and track the progress, it'll surely help to avoid any mind tricks as you can surely see how you are progressing.

43 (yes I'm lucky!) and started losing it about 8-9 months ago. I really ramped up the weights around that time and I'm pretty damn sure the weight lifting caused it. I have the same hair and hairline as my uncle (mother' side) and he kept his well into his late 50's (he died at 59 with hair!)

I may be 43 but in a way I know what it is like to lose it at a young age because I've always had very very fine see through hair and people have constantly told me I'm balding since I've been 18. One student, when I was 21, even told me not to wear a wig when I get older! Pretty depressing but the irony is I have probably kept my hair longer than most of the guys that mocked me! Interestingly my brother started to lose his hair in his mid 20's and by 35 he was pretty much bald. He's two years older than me. His hair was much thicker and wavier (is that a word?) compared to my thin and dead straight hair. He has never cared about his hairloss and respect to him for it, although I've been there when some of his work colleagues have mocked him. That must be tough.

I never took pictures. I never wanted to be reminded! My hair is much better than it was 7 months ago. It's seems to have more density and it just looks and feels in better condition.

It's not so much the taking pills etc for my hair but actually buying drugs over the internet from an on-line pharmacy that my wife would not be happy about. My mother and father and my wife know I use minoxidil and Saw Palmetto. I told my mother because I needed to confirm my uncle's hair and get her thoughts on the gene side. I never met my mother's father but she said he kept his hair. In fact my mother first bought me the Regaine/Rogaine Foam after seeing it advertised on TV. My mother thinks I'm being silly and I have nothing to worry about!

BTW, try a little miconazole nitrate on the strands the minoxidil has grown. Two or three times a week. You will be amazed how quickly they grow.

Well, my advice for you - don't worry about it so much, really..

If I remember correctly, someone on these forums told me "don't start putting miconazole on your head", I don't know why... Anything I should know?
Btw, I don't know anything about miconazole, what are the benefits of it? Is it something similar to Nizoral shampoo?
