anyway when you stop shedding that's a good sign. I tend to believe that people who get severe side effects from anti androgens also respond better to lower dose. myself included I have found. so maybe this is a reasonable approach to at least delay the onset a few years. additionally you could try the samiRNA that comes out in 4 weeks in Europe, especially if money is not a problem bc it won't be cheap. it would be a different angle that is actually very reasonable if you use an AR antagonist like fluridil, a mild AR degrader(or rather AR mRNA inhibitor) could provide additionally benefit and they would work synergistically. plus its used only once per week + there is at least some semi good study on it that shows its at least better than fluridil on paper

myself personally im also getting really desperate and depressed. despite having done a lot of research I have found that for whatever reason(and I would be happy to hear any input), my body cannot tolerate finasteride.

i have done the experiment and have now arrived at 0.005% (the mazarella dose) but not twice, just once a day at 1.5ml. ive been doing this for a while now and its almost crazy but I still have the same side effects.

no doubt that it still goes systemic to some degree even at this dose as my semen is very watery. however, at most now I have about 10-12% DHT reduction. I am not surprised or saddened that I still have some side effects, I am at a point where I think some trade off just need to be made if you dont want to be NW6 in your twenties and I really dont want that.

however what has stressed me out a lot is that for whatever reason, the intensity of the sides has not changed. and they are still very severe and serious.

severe erectile dysfunction (if I had not seen a doctor who did an ultrasound I would think I have severe penile fibrosis at this point because of the extent of the ED). I cant have an erection that lasts for longer than a few seconds. libido is absent but this I find is a consequence of the bad erectile function as Cialis recovers the libido(which it doesnt do by its own mechanism) but I find the poor erections bring down my libido.

so now I am really wondering what is going on? not just why do I still have these sides but rather, why is there not an improvement compared to less DHT inhibition and estrogen increase?

- oral finasteride completely wrecked me, estrogen increased by 110%(literally doubled), free T halved(-50%), DHT was in the ground at 10ng/dL (normal range 25-60)

- now on topical finasteride my estrogen is only increased by 15%, free T is the same, total T is the same, DHT is reduced by 16% and is now TWICE as high, 100% increase in DHT compared to oral finasteride.


however, the extent and severity of the sexual side effects are still the exact same. they aren't milder or anything, I still have severe erectile dysfunction.

i dont understand the world anymore. Dr Wrassman who prescribed me the liposomal said nobody in the past 3 years out of 250 people that came to him (most who couldn't tolerate oral finasteride) has had such sides. but they are very real.

I feel like I cant close this chapter without at least having an idea what might be going on in my body. like, its so confusing to me how my body can be so reliant on DHT and yet, a 100% increase does not produce a meaningful change. it just makes no sense on a medical level?

cant really stop finasteride either as it still works at this dose and the actual reason, there is nothing else in 2023 that could make sense. getting off of finasteride means being NW6 at 30 and for some reason I think ill regret letting that happen.

does anyone here have an idea what might be going on?

there is actually a lot of ways and rate limiting steps through which androgen signsling can be disrupted:

-translocation of the androgen receptor bsck into the cytoplasm

- AR antagonism

- Reducing either expression or activity of 5AR

- codomain biding and prevention of binding of cofactors to the AR so it doesnt get activated

-increase aromatase expression locally

-inhibit testosterone production locally(yes, in favt hair follicles have shown to be able to synthesize their own testosterone locally as well)


-degrade 5AR



plant based products have a bad reputation but thats by they have not been screened properly. in theory if you have something like propolis which is reported to degrade the AR in vitro and have a good vehicle like a nanoparticle lipids and have good delivery of the molecules than it has a high chance of working in vivo.

also there are as ive just said a great many ways to interfer with steroid signaling not just antagonists and 5AR inhibitors

Hi @badnewsbearer, do you remember that a few weeks ago I told you that I stopped CB and after 3 weeks my hairloss was totally stopped? You told me that it was the hair cycle, but is not, now I know.

shedding is getting better, my hair is looking better, it feels healthier and stronger/thicker

I am reading that the mechanism of action is similar to drugs as CB or Pyri. I will buy 1 bottle for 1 month. What % are you using? And where do you buy it?

ive quit finasteride. ill also try eucapil next but it'll have to regenerate my dick first which took almost a year last time

Low dose oral minoxidil is the next big thing. No joke, the gains im having are insane. But im also on dutasteride since 2013, so DHT is already under control for sure.

Dont know your Norwood but maybe you should consider LDOM. Be careful with the dosing if you start though

why would anyone suggest it is useless? its potency is comparable to flutamide, additionally its more potent at blocking AR signaling than enzilutamide and bicalutamide in prostate cancer lines. it does degrade fast but not immediately upon interaction with water in serum. I think if anything, the dose may be too low. if it got worse its most definitely a matter of it not being strong enough vs the drug making it worse.
