Am I Receding Or Is This My Mature Hairline?

I am 28, shed a lot the last 2 years I noticed but still have thick hair, been experimenting with minoxidil since 26. I used it almost everyday twice a day for a year but give or take 2 months of days I got lazy etc. I went the last 6 or 7 months without it because I thought maybe I'm wasting money but started again out of fear haha. I noticed it isn't as low as it was when I was say 19 but it was always higher at my left side than right. I am trying to figure out if I am even on the norwood scale yet as I have no diffusing at the crown and from the top it looks pretty strait. I want to bring my hairline down because it's gone up enough to where my forehead looks bigger than it did before and throws off my facial framing. I am a decently handsome guy but noticed over the last 2 years or so the female attention isn't as intense as it was. I have a 36 yr old brother with square corners and 60 yr old father with square corners, I'd say they are both NW1 or NW2 at most. I wanted to get hair transplants to thicken up the front and lower it a bit, maybe .5 inc,h if that. Is it doable? Would a DR even bother? I started taking finasteride yesterday and plan to maintain it as well as minoxidil but I am pretty sure I'm keeping what I have.

No one is even going to bother reading your story if you don't have a pic attached
Use imgur if you can't directly upload, but you should be able to

You've got a full head of hair, nothing to worry about.

NW1. No hair transplant doctor who is ethical would touch your hair at this time. You just have a high forehead so it's going to look like it's worse than it is. Just monitor your hair every six months but if your dad and brother are full heads, you have a high chance to be one too.

Well that's what I mean though I want to try and make my forehead not as prominent. Seemed to notice it the last few years. Is there another option besides hair transplants to achieve that effect?

I am in the same boat as you. I don't have too much loss at the front but more than you do. I have a high forehead too. Looked into forehead reduction and there is one doctor whose scars are virtually undetectable and if needed you can implant into the scar with grafts. The problem that I read on his website is it's very highly likely you will lose about 10 percent density all over your head. I don't remember anywhere saying you will recover it later. I have fine low density hair to begin with so that would make it worse. If I had super thick hair, I would do it. How big is your forehead? Measure from your hairline near your temples to your eyebrow margin. I am guessing your forehead size might be close to 3 inches. Do not wrinkle your forehead when you measure and cheat.:D

Just measured, if I take the middle of my eyebrows where they start and to the top of the hairline it is 2.5 inches. that is uniform around until the left temple where it peaks at almost 3 and the right temple about 2 3/4 inch. But I feel if maybe I got the temples thickened a little or somehow got a few grafts in the front I'd be good? I just want that youthful look. I have very thick hair btw, EVERY barber/cosmetologist who has cut my hair has always commented on it usually followed by asking my ethnicity (white as far as I know but vaugely spanish?) As I said I am a decent looking guy, not by any means Tom Cruise but I don't have a problem with women except the high forehead kind of does me in I suppose. It seems so ridiculous to worry about and believe me it is not priority so to speak but if I got the money to do it one day I would for sure. I just want to get it to put my face back into the golden ratio I had. Also I know there are guys with serious balding and obvious signs etc and honestly I feel your pain and can understand the anxiety and depression and constant paranoia and worry and self esteem issues that can come with it. You might think you're perfect in EVERY way but just ONE thing... your hair. I wish they could perfect hair cloning and every guy could get a full head of hair, I hate the uneven playing field it creates honestly. I do wish you all luck as well and appreciate the kind replies. I guess we all worry about it a lot more than we would like to think.
