Am I going bald? Pt. 2 (yes, another one)

You have to look at this in relative terms. Is it worse than it was a few months ago? Hairlines mature and stay at that level potentially for a very long time. My dad has a head of hair similar to yours, maybe a bit thicker... his hairline has been like that for over 30 years (seen pictures). I would not go on finasteride until you know for sure. Obviously if you had a thick straight hairline and now you are like this then yes, you are losing it. I would take loads of pics and keep a close eye on it.

Apparently finasteride does'nt do much for the hairline anyway.

Unfortunately, no treatments other than a hair transplant SIGNIFICANTLY help with the hairline. :(

I honestly have no idea. I haven't started checking until this past month or so.

I'm going to try and dredge up some old pictures for comparison though.

To answer your question in word, "Yes" your hair is headed south, but yoiu have a long way to and I have great news. Wait until you see what happened to me.

I don't understand all the confusion about hair treatments. When I started to go bald they didn't have any of this stuff, at least I don't think they did because I never thought about it. I was 40 and mostly bald the first time I ever heard of Rogain. I'm 60 now and up until a couple of years ago I was skin bald on top and wicked thin on the siges. But I'm not any more:)

A couple of years ago I was watching a baseball ball game and I got to thinking about baldness. That was due in large part to a commercial for Avacor. The same ad ran between every inning. They showed a "Before and After" of the back of some guys head. The picture was on the screen for a second only. Honest. About the sixth time the commercial came on I got up real close to the screen to see what the language was. I am talking about the words I saw in very small print at the bottom of the screen in between the Before and After pictures. Can anyone of you guys think of what it said? Was it something like "Results may vary." Nope. In between the Before and After picture it said, and I quote, "60 Seconds Later."

In my view, that was Avacor's way of avoiding a law suite. Hey, if the difference between the two pictures happened in 60 seconds, then you know it wasn't as the result of hair growth. That add really pissed me off. I was so pissed off I went searching on the computer, and guess what I found.

I found a product that increases blood flow to the scalp naturally. Since I have been using this all natural magnetic roller my hair loss has completely stopped, and I have re-grown so much new hair in the thin areas that every time I get my hair cut now the barber has to use thinning sheers. I don't understand for the life of me why this product isn't on every store shelf in every store in the country. It's call Mag-Gro and the only place I ever saw it was on line.

You have a ton of hair, a ton. This product will work absolute wonders for you. Good luck to you. If you decide to use this magnetic roller I bet you will be surprised.

I dont think he is balding. Although those short hairs on the hairline are weird. I NEVER had anything like that. Maybe its a mature hairline forming. Who knows.

I think those small hairs are growing back from hair lost from stress? They are looking better than they used to

In my opinion its stupid to even really ask. You know more then anyone if you have lost hair or not if you ever pay attention to it. If your not sure you have lost hair then just wait. Your family history should be the main indicator but if you have undeniably lost hair then the answer is clear.

looking a t some of my old pictures definitely proves that my hairline has receded. I pray that it is just maturing!

Mine got in same situation when i got 19, just make photos and compare after few months. The only treatments that you can go now are nizoral, rogaine and tricomin. You're too young for propecia

I mistakenly thought I had to make a new username because of issues I was having with my browser, so I ended up making a new thread. I'll put the information posted there, here.

I'm pretty insane when it comes to my hair. I'm sure that the frequent posts by youngsters worried about their hairline gets annoying, but here's another one. I know my hairline has matured somewhat since I was a kid (I've confirmed through old pictures), but I'm wondering how bad it looks at this point. It doesn't seem like it's gotten worse, but I'm wondering if there's any way to tell how bad it'll get.

I'm turning 20 in a few days. Here are some pictures:

EDIT:

And this is older, but I thought I'd post it anyway

What I'm most concerned with is the second to last picture. See that weird "cut" in my hairline that is about an inch away from the middle of my forehead? I'm not sure how long that's been there, but it almost looks as if it's a result of even more recession. I had no idea people lost hair in this manner. sh*t.

I think it is best to keep watching it closely and take pictures. You can never know, only time can show. You may have this hairline for the next 20 years or you could be just starting loosing hair. Things with hair aren't happening for one or two days. Watch it, if it starts you will best know.

hm... I don't know how you say that's not hair loss?
it's pretty similar to my balding pattern, I started with meds even earlier... now I am a little better than that...
so my advice is start taking care of your hairloss... or at least go to dermatologist to be sure... the sooner the better...
good luck!
