this started a while back. sometimes on the right side of my hairline i fell a very irritating sensation like something is pulling my hair. and i think the left side is starting to catch up. there is very short hair on the front of the hairline that hasn't grown for months. i was wondering if people could tell me or help me find what it is (miniaturization etc). and if there's any treatments lmk.

IMHO looks like early hairline recession.

Make sure you have a good support system, and investigate options

I would definitely not recommend finasteride or propecia. You are way too young and it can seriously screw up your development.

You can try rogaine, it's extremely rare to see hair loss that young. How long has this been going on?

Honestly, you should ask your parents to take you to a hair loss specialist and see what's going on?

I wouldnt say its extremely rare, i started losing my hair at 14. However it didnt progress much until i started propecia and bam... rapid recession on temples and its over 3 months in. :(

But anyways Kiddy88 my advice to you is do NOT start rogaine, propecia, etc until you are 18. I personally wouldnt bother at all with the rogaine as its very rare to grow hair that is of cosmetic value, not to mention high risks of sheds and if you shed and are a non responder ( which is probable ) all that hair wont come back ( sometimes it does but do you really want to take that chance? )

Bottom line is the treatments for balding men SUCK. All the ones that DO work really great most of the time have awful side effects so i wont bother naming any.
I think you will be fine until you are 18, but be careful once you start a treatment you must 100% commit to it or your hair will take a hit every time. Good luck little dude, try enjoy your early teens for what its worth.. im almost 20 and would love to be roughly 16 again haha.

While you are at the doctor have them test your thyroid but it looks like very aggressive balding, good old male pattern baldness indeed.

Is your father bald? How about brothers? You could continue balding at a fast rate and be almost done before 22, or It might slow down a bit and have a chance to reach your 30s with some hair, good luck

bro, enjoy your highschool and middle school as much as possible .
And practice sport. I would advise you to hit the gym right now . And come back when you will be 18 to go on propecia .
But right now, take an appoitment with a derm, and hit the gym . you will have a great body in highschool , even if you lose hair .

you know i am not at all the kind of guy to say , just shave it and hit the gym .
But i really believe that for you the fact of hitting the gym young will allow you to overcome this problem and the eventual mockery of your peers in the future if you are really balding young .

Kiddy88, I think I speak for everyone here in wishing you the best. I have a son your age and I can imagine how stressful it would be for him to face hairloss at such a young age. But - and this is important - remember, hairloss isn't cancer or some other life-threatening condition, it's cosmetic. Of course, it's tough but you must be tougher and adjust.

Do seek treatment (but be careful of taking drugs that may have long-term consequences). You have been very brave and mature to seek advice here. It's worth seeing your doctor and having tests to exclude any medical reason for the hair loss, before seeing a hair specialist. However, don't be defined by your hair loss, you have the greatest gift of all: youth. Enjoy it and make your future!

yeah i'll try. this has been one of my fears since i was little because my brother told me it would happen. but what scares me the most is not having anything to treat it or the derm seeing nothing wrong with my hair. i don't want to sit here and go bald without even having the chance to treat it.

Bro for now you should start using minoxidil and nizoral shampoo. Unfortunately it would be dangerous for you to take finasteride at your age

minoxidil and nizoral may help you hold on until you're at a more appropriate age to start finasteride or a better treatment comes along

'Bobster'? Your promo of these pharmas sounds like you're one of their sales persons/gatekeepers. Most sites have one such on board.. such as Cancer Inc's gatekeepers on any every Health Site who'll pounce and scream as soon as there is mention of a cancer cure.. such as from Dr Hulda Clark, Beck, Rife, essiac, Hoxey, Sunderlandia, cannabis oil, papaya leaf tea, black elderberry.. etc!!

ahh bobby boy, back it at again
