Taking saw palmetto as an internal is worthless. It will not stop hairloss or even slow it down. I took that junk for 3 years and all I did was go from a NW1 to a NW2.5. Take either Finasteride or Dutasteride internally if you are serious about stopping hair loss, but don't take saw...

I have taken Avodart for over 2 1/2 years now and I drink beer heavily about 3-4 nights a weak and my hair looks slightly better now than it did 2.5 years ago. (I'm 22 btw). I say drink beer all you want, but smoking is very harmful to the body, but I highly doubt would affect your hair.
