Whats the Thinnest Skin piece you have tried?

There's more to ThinSkin bases than meets the eye. Yes, a really thin base will disappear better than a thick one, but there's another factor to consider: density. The base must be thick enough to support the client's specified density. Each hair injection creates a hole in the base and the...

Which adhesive works the best for you?

A few thoughts... 1. Don't use really hot water when shampooing - the heat can soften the adhesive and reduce the strength of the attachment. 2. Don't shampoo your hair - or even get it wet - for the first 24 - 36 hours after attachment. This will increase the wearing time significantly. 3...

What do you use to control odor on your scalp and piece?

The simple solution is to shampoo your hair system twice a week. You may also want to rinse and condition your hair every time you shower, even on days when you don't shampoo. The biggest cause of offensive odor is wearing your hair system for several weeks at a time, especially if you use...

Toxicity of Glues used in Hair Replacement Systems

Most, if not all, hairpiece adhesives are made with medical-grade adhesives. There is no way to anticipate who may be allergic to any specific product. An allergy does not imply toxicity. The seller of Ultra Hold was involved in a lawsuit several years ago after a competitor claimed that it...

How short can a full cap for men be cut?

You can't cut a full cap as short as a hairpiece - you need length to cover the edges of the base along the sides and back. I'd say 1.5" would be the minimum, but the longer, the better.

    Cyberhair

I saw a woman's cyberhair system and thought that it was the best synthetic hair I had ever seen, but it is very expensive. Keep in mind that you cannot bleach the knots on synthetic hair.

Anyone know if you can buy a lace skin alone? (without hair)

There are distributors out there, but they won't sell you a small piece of lace for one unit. Making a hair system using your own hair is highly impractical for a number of reasons. 1. You would need to grow your hair to a length approx 4" longer than the actual length you desire, and at least...

Making a thin skin last as long as possible? Fixing methods? The basics?

You can put a layer of Transpore one-sided tape on the base and then "paint" whatever adhesive you like onto the tape. That way, when it's time to remove and re-attach, you simply peel the tape (with the glue) off the base and dispose of it. You can also use Red-Liner tape or Duo-Tac tape...

Best shampoo and conditioner to use

Ian Gavet (founder of Back2Natural and a genuine expert on hair replacement and hair color) recommended Pearatin Hydrating Creme Shampoo and Pearatin Hydrating Reconstructor (conditioner) to me several years ago and that's all I use. It's not easy to find, but it's worth it, in my opinion.

HARD TO FIND A GOOD STYLIST

Unless you can find a men's stylist who knows how to cut hairpieces and doesn't charge a fortune, your best option is a women's hair salon. Women's hairdressers know a LOT more about cutting and blending hair than men's stylists do - and they usually are reasonably-priced. Ask your wife...

how much is a hair system with your own hair?

As long as you are sure that all of the hairs in the ponytail have the root ends all together, you may be okay to have a system made with your own hair. Chances are, however, that whomever you send it to will not guarantee the results.

Anybody has experience with "hair weaving" for men ?

I have spoken to women with extensions and watched videos of extensions being applied. The traditional method applies a great deal of tension to the growing hair. Women have told me the procedure was actually painful. So from what I have seen and from what I have been told, there is no way...

how much is a hair system with your own hair?

Having a hairpiece made from your own hair sounds good in theory, but it is rarely a good idea. 1. How long is the hair? If it is less than 10", it can't be used. The only exception is if you have a ThinSkin piece made with injected (not knotted) hair. 2. When you cut the hair, did you tie...

Anybody has experience with "hair weaving" for men ?

If this is the same procedure as traditional hair weaving, don't do it. You are correct that Traction Alopecia will cause permanent hair loss in the areas where the hair is attached.

    my system experience

Poker.... In truth, your hair just isn't that important to other people. Nobody spends their free time contemplating your hair style and hair growth. I have known people who kept 3 pieces cut to slightly different lengths and then switch from the shortest to the medium to the longest every...
