I agree that he should definitely allow the doctor to shave down the area.
However, it may be a little tough pulling off the cap or bandana look given his profession. :woot:
I concur with the above post.
Since you've stabilized the hair loss and apparently have the funds to go through with it, why not?
Life is short.
I'm in your age range and followed through with a transplant a few months back. I'd consider it one of the best decisions I've ever made, an...
I would never go that route. Of course, I did go through with a transplant a few months back.
At least with a transplant, its YOUR own naturally growing hair. Even with concealers, which I've used in the past, you're blending them in with YOUR hair.
Hair piece. . . could never do it.
I'd...
I would advise against it at your age, but if you do decide to go ahead and get it done in Thailand, go with Dr. Pathomvanich. He's the best in that part of the world.
I bought it from Amazon on a whim after reading this thread the other day... probably too early to judge its effectiveness, but initial first impression... it does absorb much more evenly and completely than other creams that I've used. So far so good!
I had a transplant a few months ago.
Most doctors say its okay to apply concealers post-surgery so I'd assume that it is safe.
My doctor assured me that it would be okay to use concealers after a certain time period had elapsed. I don't remember exactly, but it wasn't too long.
I used...
The transplanted hair would hold up, but its not the transplanted hair that you have to worry about. Its losing the hair around the transplanted hair that would be your main concern.
If you can't stabilize your hair loss to some degree, you'll end up with patches or islands of transplanted hair...
How long after surgery should one wait to tan, provided that the scalp is completely covered (bandana & hat)? I want to re-gain some color but not at the expense of putting my grafts at risk!
I'm two months post-op and was going to resume tanning in another month. Should I wait longer?
what was your cost per graft if you don't mind me asking?
I forget what it was exactly with the exchange rates and all. I paid just over 10K for nearly 3700 grafts.
The dollar isn't as strong as it was just a few years ago. I still estimate that I saved a few thousand even when you factor in...
Well, the waiting game has begun. Like everyone has alluded to, the first few months are the worst.
Nevertheless, I'm healing quite well. All the scabs are gone, most of the hair has shed, and the donor incision redness is beginning to fade.
I'll try to get some pics up soon.
First off, I'd save money until you can afford to get the required number of grafts. If you go ahead and get half the estimated amount, I have a feeling you would end up being disappointed.
I had a transplant in Thailand just over three weeks ago. I'd recommend Dr. Pathomvanich. Of course its...
I've tried an abundance of shampoos. I prefer the Tricomin shampoo and conditioner. Its a bit pricey, but you don't need too much as it lathers quite nicely from just a small amount.
It smells good and leaves my scalp feeling great. I'm also using the Tricomin spray, but may discontinue once my...
