I mean, it depends upon the recessed hairline, but if it's the classic "M" pattern, it's kind of a style unto itself. WHen I still had stuff to work with on top, I would generally wear styles that sort of minimized it yet rocked it. Sometimes it was a brush forward, but with hair not so long...
I also only went for a system when I was too far gone for concealers to work, and tried shaved and buzzed for a long time. I'm not saying a system is only a last resort, because it's not permanent, it's more that you still have a lot of less drastic options still available. Even growing the...
Probably going to DIY it from now on - it was a hefty chunk of change. She actually sent me home with the template, and told me the color codes, etc. She's happy to do cut-ins for other pieces, and take calls on this one. All good stuff.
Hi Deg - I'm in greater boston. She only described it as "lace" with real hair used for both the #3 brown and the 65% grey. Second-to-lowest density. (the hairline is uncanny - except for the tiny bits of lace you can spot up close here and there).
Thanks!!
Thanks - one weird experience was when they gave me the monk cut right before attaching, I actually kinda likes the look oddly enough - felt like I should have been promoted to Senior VP right there on the spot. I mean not really, but sort of.
Feel pretty good about it actually, mainly because I went very conservative on the hairline. A guy my age - 50 - should have a high forehead, and I've had one since 25.
I went to a salon for everything - but she's very cool and will happily do cut-ins on pieces she doesn't sell. She nailed...
I have some recession at the temples, not a ton. Also, I'm 50 and really don't want to look ridiculous. I would prefer to have my hairline look like a NW1-2. The style I'm looking for is something like a "Euron Greyjoy" from GoT...
Hi Noah,
I'm growing my hair out for a system - zeroing on an approach. Honestly I want to do it all myself except for the cut-in, but that's the challenge - I've found some pricey replacement salons, but they only cut in their own stuff, which as you can imagine is hugely marked up (think...
Thanks - I'll look into the DIY-plus-barber route. I'm definitely looking for something that looks realistic on my head, AND looks appropriate for my face/age. However, I don't care if it's drastically different than my current appearance. I've already decided to keep it at my current grey...
I'm getting pretty close to pulling the trigger on this. I'm 50, divorced, and maybe a NW4-ish (more like a 3, except the stuff on top is a whispy, kinda pathetic fuzz). I've been mostly cool with the process, and buzz it very close and offset it with a light beard. I honestly think I look ok...
