Young: Should I Jump On Finasteride?

I just turned 19 and i have noticed my hair have been thinning over the last 2 years and my hairline has a mild recession. My father has the same hair as me though he is norwood 4 and his crown has recently started thinning he is 53. Should I jump on finasteride or accept my baldness, because I feel too young for hairloss.
My other silly plan is to wait a bit for the hairloss to progress and then restore the perimeter of the frontal hairline and wear a gradual hair system behind it.
You might say i can shave it off or something, but TRUST me, I've a pretty bad face shape but a pretty handsome face. My hair is pretty wavy and if i follow my second plan, I plan to wear a hair system without the frontal restoration and see how i can handle it and if everything is okay I may proceed to combine it with a hair transplant.

Should I risk the sides or follow my second plan?

Definitely a silly plan. I thought the same at your age. My advice to myself in retrospect would be "don't be a f*****g idiot, get on finasteride".

That you're already debating like this about whether or not to gamble losing it later and seeing how that'll go makes it seem like it is a risk that is not worth taking. Get on finasteride.

Get on finasteride. Trust me it is easier to preserve your hair than to try to get it back once it is gone.

So you guys think that even if my fathers hairloss is pretty severe, I still have a chance to preserve my hair for quite some time with finasteride.

The earlier you catch it, the more chances of keeping what you got. Finasteride isn't for when hair gets worse, if you're over 18 I'd say Talk to your Doctor and go for it

Today it was a weird day for me. I just asked my father when did he went on the military, which was the time he said he lost a lot of hair, he said he was losing before that but not something severe, but that was the time he lost most of his hair, due to stress as he claims, and it was at 19 which is my age. Well no one has noticed hairloss, on me and my hair are almost the same as they were 2 years ago. I can claim myself as a mild norwood 1 (always had a high hairline doubt it was ever a clean norwood 0) and when i pull lightly all of my hair I pull 1-2 or none. Yes when i brush them for a while i can see 6-7 on the sink which are thin but not anything severe as my hair was always thin. Well I do believe I have male pattern baldness, because my hair have changed a bit as I've grown but I don't think it would be near my dads norwood 4 which may still progress (He is 53 now). I've read too many sh*t about finasteride (not only the sexual sides),and because I recently recovered from sexual disfunction maybe due to the habit of masturbation without any real sex until recently (Couldn't orgasm even after almost 2 hours of stimulation by a female, decreased sensitivity, and inability to maintain erection with a condom on). All of these are gone, and I am sorry to disappoint but I won't risk all this success so soon. I have almost identical hair with my father in terms of texture and color, but my mothers side and my grandpa from fathers side had all full heads of hair. My fathers mother has some thinning but she is 80 and its just a bit thin all over give her a break haha (low hairline af).

So long story short, I will be this forums experiment. We will see if I will survive this year safe and sound and if not I may take the shot and take finasteride. I will keep you updated.
