His hair looks almost the same, it's just shorter now. He has different facial hair, a different hair cut, and the picture was taken from a completely different angle. I don't think it's fair to say that the hair loss is what changed his appearance so dramatically.

Yeah he seems to have gained a little weight from the first pic. Thats what's making the difference. Don't get me wrong, hair loss can change someone's appearance dramatically but this is not an example of that.

the hairloss sucks, yes, but if they look uglier, it's also because of their poise/attitudes/posture/facial expressions.

novoselic: first picture, cocky smirk with others in background, thin. second picture: alone, goofy-*** uncomfortable expression, fat. he looks like a goddamn fat cat executive.

graeme: first picture: smiling, sunglasses, inviting expression. second picture: looks sad, defeated, arms held in awkward, defensive position, refusal to meet camera's eye.

slater: these two pictures are the most similar, and so there's the least discrepancy in attractiveness. he doesn't look terrible bald.

gabriel: the guy is 60 now, what do you want?

Robby Krieger had the receded hairline when he was young....He still seems to have a decent amount left for a 64 year old.Guys like him give me hope but on the other hand guys like Peter Gabriel give me nightmares....

Interesting fact about Stewart though he's been playing middle aged guys since his late 20's. Usually in the acting world you play characters younger than your real age (unless you're bald).

I wouldn't say bald is cool per se, but Patrick Stewart is someone who it really works for. Same for Yul Brynner. The other two were just there for jokes.

Again, it comes back to whether it suits you or not. Hair on Stewart would give him +0.5 on his looks. On some guys hair adds +4 or greater.
