Hello everyone hope you are all well. As far as I'm aware, my hairline has been like this for as long as I can remember so I never really took any notice of it. However i was just curious if this is quite a serious example of balding? And one that requires at least some attention? I am 25 years old. Is it possible it stays like this for some time? My hair is quite full and grows very fast to long lengths. Thank you.

Assuming it's been like that since all your adulthood, it's quite possible that it's just the natural shape of ur hairline and that it will stay the same forever. Nevertheless, keep watching it carefully for a few years and get on treatmens as soon as you se any signs of thinning

When I was about 24 I receded to more or less where you are now, then some minimal further loss for one year or two. Now I'm 32 and for now hairline hasn't moved, even though it will certainly do at some point. Also I'm thinning at the crown. There is no certainty, but Androgenetic Alopecia can be quite slow sometimes

Your hairline didn't move for 8 years? I assume you were on finasteride... Right?

Get on a regimen now man!! Youre only 25. I want to look good until I'm 50 and having good hair is very important (Also staying slim). Your hairline would already be too shitty for me.

It is when you understand that a low square hairline is very important to the way men look. All those 40 year old movie stars with great hairlines isn't by coincidence. You NW3s would never understand

No treatment, but there was vertex thinning in the meanwhile
Why wouldn't you get on treatments then! If hairline is actually not progressing much and vertex is getting worse, I guess you would respond well to finasteride/minoxidil/keto. I would die to ensure maintenance.

It only became very visible recently... Finasteride has side effects that don't make it worth. I started minoxidil last night though

Sure it has sides, but given that their insidence is around 5%, I'd give it a try if I were you, given that minoxidil alone has been proven to work just for a short time (around 6 months, best case scenario 2 years then the loss resumes)

I can't see myself using finasteride really, I'd probably rather go bald. I just hope minoxidil works until more efficient treatments enter the market. Or, ideally tramsplants become affordable

Or, even more ideally, I just embrace the fact I'm getting older. I'm working on it.

You cant go from a full head of hair to bald within a couple of years without having diffuse thinning. Its nearly impossible to recede so much that you go entirely bald in just a few years without thinning all over the scalp. Unless you start thinning over your scalp, you are safe my friend.
