Does everyone find comfort in the fact that famous people have hair loss too? Does misery love company around here?

Just curious..

It probably comforts people knowing you can still be attractive with hairloss or that you can still pull of a cool look with hairloss.

And also because its a good way of pointing out the types of hairloss because everyone knows who these people are.

People will always be fascinated with celebrities, and its interesting to investigate what they do against it.

Yep and also if these celebs have been around for a few years its also easy to monitor the rate of hairloss.

It gives people a good reference point to discuss hair loss. A common base point of discussion.

On the other side people want celebs to be balding so bad they see whatever they want to see.

Two reasons:

1) They have many photos, taken in different locations and at different times. So, it helps people to discuss about one's balding pattern and compare it to theirs.

2) You can see different hairstyles and decide which might suit your hairline best.

I don't think anyone here is trying to rag on balding celebrities. I think it is beneficial for those who feel despondent about their loss to see that even rich, glamorous celebrities are not immune to hairloss and they have normal people problems as well. If that makes them feel a little better about themselves there is nothing wrong with that.

Kind of like when Bruce Jenner told Alfonso he had dyslexia also..

I usually read the celebrity threads. I guess in a weird way it sometimes makes you feel a little better when someone famous is losing their hair too. It's not like I wish everyone also had hair loss or anything at all like that. It just interests me that a lot of celebrities who are often idolized for their appearance wear wigs or go through toppik like an entire army of bald men. It sometimes reminds you that not everyone is perfect, and living in this batshit crazy superficial world, that's a good thing to remember.

Celebrities are like perfect experimental groups of balding men. They are so heavily photographed that we get to reference their older pictures vs their newer ones and see their exact balding patterns. Occasionally we find one who has a similar pattern to us, or who may or may not be balding - thus leading to endless debate.

It's stupid grade school gossip, but it's fun.

Last night I watched a movie starring Peter Sellers and I noticed his crown looked just like mine. Unfortunatley, the fact that he was 30 some years older then me at the time really got to me. :sobbing:

I hear ya. Pierce Brosnan in The Matador has my pattern, but he's 60 something and I'm 22. Oh well.

He was 52 when the matador came out, but still...

Oh well, maybe we get the last laugh after all, maybe when a 'solution' comes around the corner in the next ten years...

God, if only I had been born 15 years later
