Where to travel to get a hairtransplant?

I was reading the above link on MSN.ca this morning. If it doesn't work look for a story called: "Where do people go to get J-Lo's booty?/Cosmetic surgery tourism: Where to go for a little nip/tuck"

Unfortunately there wasn't a page dedicated to hair transplants but it made me wonder if anyone from this site would know the best country to get affordable quality hair transplants.

Thanks for the reply. I'm actually from Toronto and met up with Rahal last summer. I had just started 1/4 Proscar and told me to see him again in Dec/Jan so he could see the results. I contacted his staff to schedule again and no one responded to my email which didn't leave me with a good impression.

Overall he was a nice guy but not too enthusiastic as I expected. I guess he doesn't have to be too "salesmen like" with his reputation.I'm a little hesitant to contact them again. Quote I got was around $10,000

I went to Hair Club in Toronto recently and met up with a Dr. Frost based out of Chicago. Very nice guy but the hair expert who did my initial consult has not followed up with me with small details like she promised. The quote was around $7,000 and they offered monthly payments around $600-$700 zero interest!

My family doctor suggested I try Seager although I wasn't impressed with the before and after pics on the website. I might pay them a visit soon though.

Another place I am curious about is bosley. I had only heard of them when visiting the US. There is a place in New York which would only be a 3 hour drive.

What's wrong with places like Hair Club? I'm sure places like these are concerned about their professional reputation so wouldn't their network of doctors be more than qualified to do a decent job?

Has anyone here had a transplant done by Rahal? I noticed a few have praised him in the past. What's this based on? (other then reputation)

You'd think so but in reality these 'chain clinics' just treat you like a faceless consumer rather than an individual case. They are only interested in gross profits and spend more enphasis on employing pressure salesmen than surgeons.

Since its not the surgeons name on the door you're likely to get some general plastic surgeon who does'nt specialise in the procedure. You probably wont meet him until he's actually performing the surgery and he'll probably have only had some basic instruction on how to do it. Should anything go wrong the next day he'll probably be off doing a boob job or lipo on some woman at another plastic surgery clinic.

Surgeons like Rahal, Feller ... ect have invested their careers into their own clinics and specialise only in performing hair transplant's 100's of them every year. Their reputations have been built over years who's ever heard of Dr Hairclub?

I red that Turkey is a popular direction. Did anyone go there for hair transplants? Any thoughts are appreciated.

My friend did it in Thailand. Before leaving, he learned more about his milestone mastercard in order to somehow be able to use it there. It was a smart decision, since his wallet was stolen there and he didn't have enough cash. Fortunately, not much was stolen, but you still have to be careful
