Well..there's Crinagen. I have come across other products that contained them as well. I think that GBX pollen extract would be interesting to try though...it contains more than just the FFA's...

Read this:"We know from Liao studies that C18 fatty acids are the most potent inhibitors of 5 alpha reductase, with Gamma Linoleic Acid being the most potent and Oleic being the least potent as far as inhibition. Since only 0.01% of Oleic acid in Emu Oil will be in the free form the DHT inhibition is not even a factor here and very unlikely to be responsible for the claimed positive effects."

That article is ignoring the potential hydrolysis of the ester in the skin.

Is there anyway we can just purchase the fatty acids? Something tells me "no"!

There seems to be a way..it's just expensive and not that easy to obtain. Someone like Dr. Yechiel or even Lipoxidil..and Dr. P...could easily get some.

They can be purchased from any major chemical supplier. The problem is that high purity fatty acids -- like most chemicals -- are very expensive when purchased in small quantities.

Though not the most desirable fatty acid for your purpose, high purity oleic acid can be obtained relatively inexpensively from lemelange.com.

Although it's described as "technical grade," note the asterisk and corresponding note at the bottom of the page:

*TECHNICAL GRADE PRODUCTS: All of our products are purchased as U.S.P. and/or Kosher Grade, but because we "repackage" them here, they are considered "Technical Grade".

Thus the description is just a legal requirement.
