Im 22 and when I shower and shampoo (twice a week) at least 30-40 hairs fall out...Is this normal? Someone told me it could be a thyroid problem. Thanks
OK thanks, I am just scared of the side effects, long term use, and birth defects...TheGrayMan2001 said:Probably not thyroid.
If your hairline is not as thick as it was, or if you can tell it's thinning (feels thinner on top than it used to), you're going to want finasteride. Right now.

So what? :dunno:
Until you see real evidence on your head of thinning/recession dont care about how many hairs are falling. Women, children 50yr old NW1's.... all of them get hairs in the shower, pillow, hairbrush ect.

if youre worried its male pattern baldness, it probably is.

this just isnt true. what about the george clooneys out there? sure, its rare, but i dont understand why youre telling someone who says himself that he has a receding hairline and thinning in the front, that its all ok and hes probably not balding?s.a.f said:Nearly all mens hairlines receed after 18/19... Even when guys dont go bald you dont see men in their 20's 30's 40's with the same juevenile hairline they had in their teens.

sure, he might not be balding, but the fact is that its a pretty big likelihood that he does have male pattern baldness and is in fact headed towards a shiny head if he doesnt act on it.
DoctorHouse said:RSR38 I think sometimes a "mature" hairline can come later in life for some. My "mature" hairline is starting to form in my 40's. However, I do notice most hispanics keep their juvenile hairline( perfectly straight) well into their 60's and 70's. I have a friend that is in his mid 50's and his hairline has not changed since he was a teen. His hair is so thick and his hairline is so low that he has always been teased that he wears a wig. I wish I had such a problem............................
