When Do You Think Baldness Will Be Cured Forever?

It will never be cured since baldness is a secondary sex characteristic, just like female boobs are. DHT is secondary hormone just like estradiol is.
Would you cure the phenomenon of big breasted women ? No?
The answer then is :

1. Either when society deems baldness attractive
or
2. When we develop local drugs and hair multiplication.

I totally disagree, some men never lose a millimeter on their hairline, it's not a universal sexual characteristic at all.

Neither are big breasts.

And that's not a universal charcteristic of women either. Small breasted women are still women. Also unlike being bald smallness is a totally socially constructed idea. A B cup might be fine to me but small to a real boob man or a woman with body image issues. If I walk outside all day without a hat, either the top of my head is going to get a sunburn or it won't. Alopecia is a genetic disease that causes the loss of a valuable body part.

I haven't clarified well enough.

Both big breasts and curves are secondary characteristics, they are still women of course.

Among men secondary characteristics are beard, body hair, deep voice et cetera.

Androgenetic alopecia is secondary male sex characteristic. Hence why it is called secondary. Just like beard is. Just because some men don't have beards doesn't make them women.
Other forms of alopecia are disaeses.

That's still no reason why we couldn't identify what causes it and stop it......

I never said that. As a matter of fact I encourage it. I just think people stigmatize it which is ironic. Basically shameful to have male characteristics in 2017.

I'm not one of the autists here saying baldness is a death sentence and there's no point to life bald, but it clearly makes most people look older and worse.

Looking older was a benefit in a society where males died early, it signified your genes were capable to survive illness and wars.

LOL OK Severus women are still generally attracted to older men but we're not living under the Antonines anymore people don't like to see many signs of aging because it reminds people of death which is something we try really hard not to think about in the modern world.

In a society where everyone wants to profit I'm amazed that so few people care about this. If a real hairloss cure was found, they would make a lot of money from it. Almost every man out there would at some point (except of the few minority that doesn't lose hair) would buy it, if the price is not to high.

No, androgenetic alopecia is a disorder of the pilosebaceous unit, that's not a normal manifestation of the secondary male sex characteristics.

But surely we can edit genes in some way so that we alll resemble those men who have all the good male sexual characteristics like muscle etc but don’t suffer from hairloss. I mean, some champion bodybuilders abusing vast doses of testosterone have all their hair so there’s definitely a way (I hope!).

I hope there is. I have pointed out biological hypocrisy.

@other poster

So could accumulation of fat in breasts and hips be categorized as metabolic disorder.

Ppl here talk about baldness being a mutation/ something that needs to die out but to be honest i think keeping your nwo hairline is the mutation and baldness must have been the commonplace in our ancestry. Looks at chimps, they go bald too. This isnt something that has happened over generations. Its always been there. Maybe keeping your hair is a mutation or adaption by humans to mate with more females lol. Bro science but hey it makes sense..

Nope, hair are a biological evolution to protect our scalps from UV radiation, chimps have the same DNA glitch and they go bald aswell, but still a glitch

Gene editing has come a long way, I mean the stuff they are discovering is mind blowing. But that's the thing, everything is still very much in the discovery stage. Yes gene editing is there but I think if you ask any gene biologist person they'd tell you we are literally on the cusp of a scientific explosion that will cure hundreds of disease/conditions over the next couple of decades. I think most people here agree that a cure for baldness would be a mega money earner, do you think big pharma would view it the same?

If you were big pharma, what would your headline rather be 'we have a cure for baldness!' or 'we have a cure for any of the following.....'

- Cancer
- Crohns Disease
- Cancer
- Diabetes
- Cancer
-Arthritis
- Cancer
- Cancer

You get my point. All us shinyhead mofos are way down the pecking order.
