When Do You Think Baldness Will Be Cured Forever?

Gene editing has come a long way, I mean the stuff they are discovering is mind blowing. But that's the thing, everything is still very much in the discovery stage. Yes gene editing is there but I think if you ask any gene biologist person they'd tell you we are literally on the cusp of a scientific explosion that will cure hundreds of disease/conditions over the next couple of decades. I think most people here agree that a cure for baldness would be a mega money earner, do you think big pharma would view it the same?

If you were big pharma, what would your headline rather be 'we have a cure for baldness!' or 'we have a cure for any of the following.....'

- Cancer
- Crohns Disease
- Cancer
- Diabetes
- Cancer
-Arthritis
- Cancer
- Cancer

You get my point. All us shinyhead mofos are way down the pecking order.

Good luck finding a cure for cancer with that gene editing stuff

By cure I mean prevention, evidence is definitely out there that Cancer is gene related. Not just due to external factors. Let me know if you disagee? I'm open to being wrong.

Yeah i agree with cancer being mostly a gene related disease, but i honestly think it's way more complex than hair loss, they gonna have a hard time finding a good cure/prevention, cancer induced somatic mutations and genetic variabilities, multiple ones.

"between individuals: for the same type of cancer (colon, breast ...) the evolution can be very different according to the genetic alterations at the origin of the tumor but also according to the genetic specificities of the patients."

"Cancer" is not a single disease, but thousands of them

Baldness is way more "realisticly" to be cured

I guess a more reasonable approach to fight cancer can be to target precisely mutated cancer cells without harming healthy ones

Ok I'm with you on that. Cancer aside then. It's all very complex and factors to consider way above my head. Yes I agree Baldness more 'realistic' to be cured but what I'm getting at is the intention and interest of the pharma companies.

Totally agree on that, way down and low priority, shits fucked for us :(
And yes, it's better to say 'We finally cured cancer', than 'We cured baldness boys', and i guess this is much better for science, even if that's depressing
