Solid norwood 2. I had the same hairline before finasteride destroyed it :( are you on treatments?

What happened? How did finasteride destroy your hairline, please explain and not now as my recession only started around a year ago. I am however considering treatments soon. I Don't want to take the risk of it receding any further in the near future.

Norwood 1? I'm clearly not a Norwood 1.. if I was I wouldn't even be registered to this site. Yet again, another morbid, belittling post which looks to be from the same individual I got into a dispute with the other day.

Cope, you're in-between a 1 and a 2 (I'm in the exact same spot). I've been keeping further temple recession at bay for the past two years with .5 Finasteride and 5% minoxidil daily. I just added 5 grams of RU58841 to my 60ml bottle of minoxidil so hopefully that will help.

As for any sides with propecia, my dick went limp the first three months of treatment but after that everything was back to normal.

Am I correct in assuming my right temple is a 2 and my left being a 1? I am very close to starting finasteride however I ideally don't want to start using a life long medication unless deemed a necessity. There is a chance that my hairline could just be maturing for now with the possibility of balding in the future. My problem is, I don't want to leave it until it's too late before I start taking preventative measures.. I'm a bit stuck with what to do?

You don't have credentials to enter the Impact section.

Jack, your right Temple is heading toward 2, a top down perspective would confirm this though. I literally have the exact same hairline and I was able to make a bit of headway on my right temple with the big 3. You have a few things going for you; density and time. Do yourself a huge favor and visit a demratologist to confirm MPD and try to remember that of the millions of men taking propecia or dutasteride it's easy to be caught up with worst case scenario reports from a small percentage of them.

Well for now my hairline is identical to my father's. He is norwood 2 at 43 although he didn't get his Norwood 2 hairline until sometime during his early 30's. I'll be sure to visit a dermatologist to get my scalp mapped and ensure that I'm not balding as of yet. I'm likely to lay off finasteride for as long as I can though, I'm only 19 so I could still be going threw puberty or some form of bodily change which finasteride could effect. I'd be more open to the idea of using hair loss medication when I get into my early/mid twenties.. that's if things go to plan.

I have no idea really, the miniturisation just kicked into high gear when i started, previously thick hairs became so thin they were invisible, my temple hair vanished almost overnight and i noticed the difference only one month in. So now im pretty close to a norwood 3 in 10 months of treatment. However i am regrowing that hair thanks to loniten :)

Does anyone on this website have legit f*****g hairloss? At the worst all I ever see is NW1-2 with very mild recession. Not trying to say people with agressive loss deserve more validation, but it does get quite annoying.

Check out my thread. Also seems a lot of people posting here who are like 18-21, that's why they have such good hairlines.

My hairline is not good, worse than OP's and im 20 :( I have enough length to give the illusion of a full head of hair though. There are a few poor souls on this forum with NW4+ diffuse thinning unfortunately. May we pray for them and ourselves.

Just skimmed through your thread man, I have to say you're in a salvageable spot at least. Religiously use your finasteride and minoxidil and you should see results. Good luck my man.

i'd say nw1. Not all nw1 are a straight hairline. Some have the natural temples. My juveline hairline was never straight so u dont need a straight hairline to be nw1. all depends on individual, scull shape etc.
