imagine hairfolicle cloning is real and a guy would be willing ot undergo an unilimited number of hairtransplants: what would be the maximum density he could reach per cm^2 ? in theory...

for comparison:

dense packing is like 100-120 hairs per cm^2

natural hair density for men is around 200 to 260 hairs per cm^2

pre teenage boys can have up to 400 hairs per cm^2

for girls and women i couldnt find anything about their natural density but i would be interested how high the number is there.

could you reach a density of 400 hairs per cm^2 in various sessions? or even more? is there even a limit?

No you can't as far as I understand, though my reading on this is zero. There will be too much competition among the grafts for blood supply and ischaemia will be inevitable - unless we also do various complicated anastamoses through cloning to ensure adequate neurovascular status. Why would you want to exceed natural density anyway? It's good enough, even if one has thin hair, a little extra can be nice but not OTT!

it was more a theoretical question

i wondered if only the limited donor hair supply is holding us back

Whats the reason behind the sudden drop in density after puberty for teenage boys? Androgens kicking in? Going fron 400 hairs per cm^2 to 200-260 is nearly a 50% reduction of density.
