I am 58 years old. I’m rather upset because it seems that the thinning in my crown is spreading. I am using finasteride and rogaine. I am trying to use Rogaine twice a day morning and night. Are there any other steps I can take to help my thinning crown get thicker hair?

Think you're doing everything possible other than a transplant, how is the rest of hair e.g receding hairline or thinning anywhere else.

Everywhere else is pretty good. I have a lot of gray now so there is a bit of transulsent growth in front but hair is still there.

How long have you been on treatments? You could add derma-rolling, some dietary supplements, good shampoo.

I’ve been using finasteride in Rogaine for about two years but I stop so I’m starting again. I do have a derma roller that I could start using. I was also using biotin but I stop so I’ll start that up again too.

If I continue can I see your good change in the thinning?

how about those topik or caboki hair fibres? I think they have them in gray too .. you still have decent density and those will give you instant cosmetic improvement

a small hair transplant would fix that spot for you, a good surgeon with 1500-2000 grafts could fill that up nicely, dont waste money on scalp pigmentation its garbage. If you dont have money for transplant you can try toppik it can hide your thinning well.

I use Topic and it works great. However, since I’m OCD about this sort of thing, I would like my real hair to fill in too.

Thanks. Is it true that if the spot is not fuller bald there is a risk of shocking the good follicles this causing more damage?

I hate to be that guy but you are 58 and only have crown thinning....Do you expect to not lose any hair your entire life?

I am defo not one of those guys who has the attitude of ‘you just get used to hairloss as you get older’. I’m nearly 37 and have been battling it since I was 19...but, in your case I would suggest some perspective. You actually have good hair for your age. Drop some toppik on your crown and it will look good

Add Saw Paw and Biotin and try a concealer...And remember you're 58, and no one cares about a 58-year-old losing their hair...

The idea that people will suddenly stop caring about hair loss when older seems silly, maybe if you have dementia sitting in a nursing home but before then i think we would all care no matter what age. As for waht can you add OP, not much else, try dermarolling lightly before applying minoxidil, switch to dutasteride.
