Hey everyone just wanted some opinions on my hair. I’m really worried about my hair, and I wanted to see if I was balding, and what treatments would help. I’m only 18 which is why this is worrying me. My family thinks it the way my hair parts and it moves in different directions. A lot of people have told me that I am not, and that my hair just moves in different directions. I was wondering if that was a double cowlick? Please let me know thanks.

Yes, it looks like you're starting to recede at the hairline and have some thinning at the crown IMO.

Agreed. It took me almost 10 years to get this thin at the crown, which was at my worst. OP your hair is going fast if you're only 18. Get on finasteride + minoxidil and hope you tolerate it okay. Should be able to thicken the crown up to 100% again and probably regrow some of your hairline too.

I’ve never had thick hair, even as a kid my hair has been really thin. That spot only shows up when I grow out my hair, and when it’s short no signs of balding. Weird?

The fact that you've never had thick hair means you probably don't have the best hair genetics. Self denial is a huge issue with people suffering from male pattern baldness. You can justify yourself all you want, you can believe what your family and friends tell you. Just remember one thing: your own mind, your own family and friends will lie to you to protect your self-esteem. If you really want to be completely sure, I'd log your hair everyday and post them on here if you find an major/noticeable discrepancies and have us confirm it for you. Don't seek advice or opinions from people close to you. You can literally have one strand of hair on your f*****g head and they'd tell you everything is fine, there's nothing to worry about.

Do you guys really think his crown is thinning? Mine looks exactly like that and I'm fairly positive mine hasn't started thinning the last 6 years I've been hair loss conscious. His hairline is definitely receding though, Solid NW2.

I’ve been told it’s the way my hair parts. Which makes sense, and I’ve been to the doctor and they’ve told me that I’m fine.

And my doctor also saw my hairline and he said it was fine as well which was surprising. So idk
What was it like before puberty? If it was exactly the same in terms of thickness and hairline placement, I'd say you're probably fine if you don't have the genetics for balding in your family. As soon as you hit puberty you start producing a lot of androgens, for those who are very genetically sensitive to androgens, the balding process can start as soon as you hit puberty. When you pulled your hair back, what really set off red flags for me is the visible scalp from the parting hair in the top part of your head. Looks to be thinning. If I were you, I'd seriously try and find before pictures of you and try and find a change in hair quality, and if you do have relatives that are balding, probably hop on rogaine asap. At your age and hair, you can dramatically improve your hair.

This is me when I was a kid. Really thin hair, and no one in my family is bald.

Dude, your hair looks way thicker and your hairline way lower. Definitely a perfect norwood 1 or even a bit less. You've definitely experienced general thinning and receded a lot in your upper temples and hairline. I'd hop on rogaine asap.

It's weird, my hair actually got thicker when I became a teenager. Way thicker. I went from having dense and normal hair thickness, but light brown to stupid thick black hair. And my hairline didn't change one bit.

Could my hair line look like that bc of my widows peak? Or is it just receding?

It just looks like recession. I only say this because the angle of where you temples and hairline meet have receded back in the current pictures, whereas with your child picture you have no recession at all.

This is what my hair looks like when I brush it. My girlfriend is annoyed by me saying that I’m balding, and she says it a cowlick. She brushed it, and this is what it looked like. Are you sure it’s not a cowlick? Sorry if I’m annoying lol.
