Yeah that dermmatch makes a big difference.

From what I have seen in person, concealers are not totally convincing when you rely on them that heavily. (They work best as a minor boost. Just like with transplants and medications and every other hair loss fix.)

I would guess other people can still notice your hair looks "worked on". They may guess that you are covering up hair loss if they ever take a hard look at your hair and think about it. But it still does look a whole lot better than your hair looks without it.

Anybody who has big hair loss should probably try cutting it down short (and letting the loss show) at least once. Some guys make desperate efforts for years to hide the loss, and then look back in hindsight and say they wish they had shaved it earlier.

There is also the issue of transplants. I mean if you intend to get transplants in the future and you hope to hide it from friends & co-workers. Your freshly-transplanted head will get less scruntiny if that is not the first time people have seen you with short hair.

You know at certain stage of loss, you don't mind people knowing that your hair looks worked on because it is much much better with concealer than without it, provided that you apply it as natural as you can.

well now, if we knew that, there would be a cure to hair loss.

Not necessarily

People are regrowing hair with only needling and minoxidil

Anyway, back to needling - Has anyone considered mango butter?? It has all the benefits of shea, cocoa and coconut oils but without the greasy uncomfortable feel and the oil staying on your skin for hours doing nothing.

It could be an incredible way to heal the scalp after needling

So here's what I am doing :

Dermastamping (not rolling or pens)
Mango butter to heal scalp
Rosemany alcohol tincture for mild stimulation

Regrowing? Not me. Maintaining, yes. Thickening, questionable. Regrowing... NO.

Needling once a week, minoxidil every day with that crap booster from Daniel Alain.

I'm doing an experiment with Citrulline in vodka instead of minoxidil

It seems to work on the same mechanisms and method of action and seems a little cleaner on the scalp

Also, there isn't a medication reaction in the body from it

Citrulline is an interesting one actually. Never heard of it for hair before but tried an energy drink shot of it and could feel my face tingling. If it could do that for the scalp that would be interesting.

taurine also vasodilates

Taurine in vodka as a topical liquid could work too

Back for the first time in years.

Let microneedling regimine fall by the wayside the last 3 years. Unfortunately. Likely lost most of my gains.

But back again because this treatment has always worked for me. Gonna change up regimine this time given that new study that released and the revised efficacy of needle puncture lengths.

Have taken my before photos, in for the long haul again, will post progress pictures when progress arrives.

I'll include my previous before and afters from 3-4 years back, for reference.

I read a study a while ago that said 0.6mm was most effective, yet most stuff I read online is using 1.5mm depth. I have wondered if deeper= more trauma and damage to follicles and this would appear to suggest so.

Do you mean the Follica research?

IMO that procedure was usually misunderstood on the hair forums. Calling that procedure "dermarolling" is misleading. They used a dermaroller type of tool and destroyed the top layer of skin. The needle length was shallow but the density of the holes was enormous. The skin wouldn't have any un-poked smooth area left after that. It would be less like poking holes, and more like doing an abrasion wound.

I don't remember tbh. It's difficult to find any consensus on depth duration and frequency for it.
