Toppik question

When I style my hair I like to wet my hair a good bit then apply hair gel. My question is, will this work with toppik? I plan on applying the Toppik when my hair is dry then wetting the hair and finally applying the gel. I've heard of Toppik changing colors or clumping up when the hair becomes damp. Anyone have experience applying Toppik in this fashion?
