To the author of this thread, I think you should consider getting on an SSRI. (Yes, I know these can have their own sexual sides, liked delayed ejaculation, etc., but you have nothing to lose).

If you are concerned about your neurosteroids being depleted, there is a chance Paxil, Zoloft, or Celexa could help. These have been shown to raise allopregnanolone levels in the brain, something that may be diminished by inhibiting 5AR.

I would seriously consider this, but remember there are risks. Still, it seems like your best shot.

If you do decide to take one, you have to give it a month or two to work, and in your case, it could take even longer.

Again, Paxil can carry its own risk of sexual sides, but its also possible that it could restore certain things in your brain that you have lost due to your taking of dutasteride.

Or, you could simply wait it out. Good luck whatever your decision, but make sure you do the research first.

to the author of this thread, you my friend needs to do more research before you mislead others about dutasteride/finasteride,

for the very least of it, it will not shrink your penis or balls, and it won't make you turn gay.

If you are suffering from that many sexual sides, take half dose of v**** as an enhancer.

majkellos, dont listen to these idiots, sides are very possible on Avoart.

Ima young guy to and got shitty side effects from Avodart.

Here is a DHT test kit you order online.

http://www.lef.org/newshop/items/itemLC500142.htm

Now you will know if you have low DHT, or some other problem. Let us know the results.

You may have adrenal fatigue, so check your DHEA-A, and 4 x daily Cortisol levels aswell.

Your high progesterone can be caused by low DHT or some other problem. High Progesterone can be a big cause of all your problems, even if your DHT is normal. Your high Cortisol is not good either.

A oral Steroid called Winstrol has progesterone antagonizing effects, so you may want to give that a shot.

Do some research on bodybuilding/steroid forums and ask questions about it.

Guys on this site dont know sh*t about hormones.

I have some really good sources of info from a few bodybuilders, people with degree's in chemistry, ect.

IMO these guys are manipulating their hormones for a living, so some of these guys really know their sh*t, and from personal experience aswell.

I have to agree with stax. I got horrible sides from finasteride, so I don't find it hard to believe that dutasteride would cause even worse symptoms. The endocrine system is a delicate one, and by "simply inhibiting DHT" and coming off finasteride you are potentially messing your system up in more ways than you could imagine. My DHT was extremely low even 4 months after coming of finasteride.

Stax!

Thanks for your help and assistance in finding DHT test. I tried to order this test but Life Extension is not delivering their products to Poland.

If you know any other internet solutions to order this test from a different company/site I would be very greatfull.

I do not know what is DHEA-A test. I only did DHEA-S, but never have heared of DHEA-A test. I also do not know what is adrenal fatigue, and how man can possibly recover from this condition which I cannot completely put aside...

I was on Proviron for a week, but it was making my condition even worse. Vinstrol is also a DHT-like analogue and I think it will also make my condition worse. It is generaly known in "Propecia/Dutasteride disaster community" that Testosteron replacement therapy make things even worse. That's why most of us suspect that the problem is associated with 5 alfa reductase defficieny. Normaly TRT would exaggerate testosteron conversinon to DHT. The problem is that it does not happen, but there only HTPA supression occurs (typical with steroids) and the situation gets even worse.

High progesteron (50% over limit in my case) is rather associated with 5 alfa reductase defficiency because normaly progesteron would be metabolised via 5AR to 5alfanorprogesteron--->Allopregnolon + GABA occurs then... In my case high amounts of progesteron are being stored without conversion. That makes the whole situation even worse.

Stax If you could give me a favour and find and other internet site that provide DHT test I would be pleased again.

Cheers.

I've been on duts on and off for over 5 years now just manageing the sides of loss of libido as best I can.

Anyway I stopped duts over a month ago and I still only have the desire to masterbate about once a week.

Please

Hate to tell you this but it could take over a year for dutasteride to get totally out of your system. it has an insanely long half life.

you will have to wait several months before it's effects on you will start to diminish.

I took Dutasteride (Avodart) for 4 months. I finished last gelatin capsule 2,5 years ago. I did not recover. My DHT is far less then I had before the treatment. [...]

I'm not a doctor but improving your testosterone levels may be easier than you think.

Before you try TRT or any other drastic solution, I suggest you try a natural treatment first. An active lifestyle and a healthy diet can do wonders. Several supplements can be very beneficial, incl. DHEA, Vits C, D, B, E, and fish oil.

There are several studies that show that PRELOX (L-arginine, pycnogenol) can improve your testosterone levels and sexual function. PRELOX is a natural supplement for the treatment of ED that is clinically proven to work. You should take it everyday.

My doctor suggested that drug also, but I'm very skeptical after the finasteride experience. That substance pycnogenol is very strange. Anyone has any experience with it? I've read about headaches as side effects from the Internet, but amazingly I can't find anything else. Maybe it's still such a new drug?

I've taken PRELOX everyday for the last couple of months. It's not as spectacular as v****, Cialis or Vigamed (PRELOX is only a food supplement) but it works. I've decided to quit, though. Since PRELOX increases testosterone levels, I believe it was also worsening my hair loss.

Here's a recent study on PRELOX by the famous Steven Lamm:

Monty, I think dutasteride's long half life is actually a positive sign for you. If you were on finasteride and still experiencing sides a month after finishing, it wouldn't be unheard of but you'd start to get worried. dutasteride's half life is more like 6 months, so the fact that you've regained your mental composure already is in itself a good sign.

I think you'll be alright. It takes more balls than I've got to get on this treatment, though!

just a question :

if your dht keeps low, is the hairloss then also stopped ?
even when your more the 2 years off duta ?

i know its verry agressive on the spermproduction , i talked about this also with my doctor, he says that its known that duta lowers your spermquality
im on it for almost 2,5 years now, many sides i dont have, just a bit lower libido , but everything works still like it schould , can go 2 times a day and then i lose all intrest to keep going  sperm is verry little and more waterlike... but my hair keeps verry stable .... i'm just home from my second hairtransplant and the Doctor says it also : its thanks to duta that your midsection keeps to be in verry healthy shape, no more hairloss, male pattern baldness is dead in its tracks .... but still i worry about what i does on the long run , sinds some day i would like to still have some kids....

maca powder from peru is also a verry good mood/libido-booster, you can try that maybe ? its herbal and i readed good revieuws about it, also a few members on our hairforum use it , and it does wonders for the libido they say...
