Wow, there is so much bitterness and insecurity in this thread. I'm balding and I've dated two professional models, one who was featured in Maxim. the hairloss didn't seem to affect their attraction to me. In fact, I broke it off with one of them because she was too clingy! Im definitely not the best looking guy by ANY means, but I try to be funny and come off as confident and ever so slightly aloof.

I do think that looks are very important for initial attraction, but women are much, much more drawn to confidence than you think! Obviously we still have a problem bc male pattern baldness tends to strip away our confidence....But if you maintain it and have good features/physique , male pattern baldness surely isn't the end of the world!

As an average man , the only thing you have , and will ever have, to attract women is your looks. You will never get enough money or status for it to male a material difference to your dating life.

Thats simply not true, men are not magnified under the same superficial microscope as women even in the hollywood dating scene (where I live)

Yeah looks are important of course!

But, men are given a greater ability to mask superficial imperfections with personality perfections, if that makes sense.

BUT you'd be suprised how many women date men they consider not as attractive as them.

Some of my hottest female friends (way out of my league) have balding boyfriends.

It helps that these guys are uber hipsters and dress very fashionably and are funny. They also have facial hair...maybe that helps

The problem for me is not "picking up" woman for one night stands/casual fling, its attracting a well rounded individual for a long term relationship. I often imagine the embarassment for any woman on my arm, when walking into a resturant/pub, meeting her parents/friends for the first time, weddings etc. No, the best I get is damaged goods ie single mums, woman already in relationships who want a bit of "rough". I am a laughing stock.
