I've been watching this forum for a while now and I couldn't stand from writing this thread .I've read things like :
-You'll be bald in 5 years
-Take finasteride or you WILL go bald
-Get married fast because you'll lose your hair

Dear balding guys and girls,NONE of these are true. All of those statements are written by illiterate, uneducated people.
Finasteride is not the only solution, there is minoxidil too.Actually finasteride may have devastating side effects for men .Also, "you ll be bald in 5 years" ....How does a random person on the internet knows that?Answer : He does not,he just wants to scare you .You may start balding at 20 y.o. and not get fully bald ever .I've been told the same thing in my 20s.I'm 24 and no difference AT ALL ,using only minoxidil .At last about the last statement, hair doesn't make the man,you can pull off bald look and be freakin' sexy.

If you see anyone writhing these 3 sentences,it means he is absolutely clueless about the subject.

Peace <3

There's so much wrong with this post I don't even know where to start. So I won't.
Well ,if you agree with any of these sentences ,you may have to study a little bit better this subject .With what I've seen in this forum ,I believe there are many people who are here to raise their self esteem ,and feel better about themselves when looking at "worse cases" and they try to terrorize young guys .In most cases balding is process which takes 15-25 years .If you see some bald spots at 25,it doesn't mean that by 30yo you ll be bald .

Sure, it could take 15-25 years for your balding to progress, or you can lose it all in 2 years even on finasteride, living a perfectly healthy lifestyle, without any family history of balding. Those are extremes but 5 years seems to be the average from full head to noticeably balding.

Do not play games with your hair in the age of social media. I encourage any man who notices the first signs of balding to really think about progressing to the next stage of life instead of trying to be peter pan until they are 30 years old. There is a reason we have a male suicide epidemic in this country and your comments are very irresponsible.

I would not go as far to say NONE of them are true. Some guys can go bald very quickly and be bald in less than 5 years. Not common but it can happen so NONE is really not very accurate. Minoxidil is not addressing one of the main causes of MBP. It does not block DHT but it is a growth stimulant so it will help but according to the studies has it maximum success rate around two years. If you maintain on minoxidil alone there is a very high chance your male pattern baldness is very slow and not aggressive. Most of the time this is the case. However, most people prefer to use a DHT blocker along with minoxidil to maximize their success rate long time.

Your case is not going to be the same as the next guy on this forum. It's not a cookie cutter approach since we all have different genetic make up. As far as I remember hair signified youth and beauty( not necessarily manliness which is more about physique, maybe height to some extent, and bone structure and facial and body hair). Most people don't want to look 10 years or more older than they really are. And with social medial exploding, everything is about looks now. Best thing to do is live a social life similar to most people did back in the 80's.

Most people here who think the sky is falling because they have a nw1.5 should not take finasteride. The real sufferers going to high Norwood land though definitely must take it, maintaining just on minoxidil just is not possible.
