Thinning in the frontal forelock is making hairstyling impossible

Recently I have suffered a big amount of diffuse thinning in my front forelock. I have already been suffering from a receding hairline for years now but the thinning is so much worse.

I can't really sport any kind of decent looking haircut now because the hair at the front is thin. Can't do a quiff because the hairs at the front just fall down my face because they no longer have strength. I can't have a haircut with my hair lying down my forehead either because it also exemplifies the thin spots I have with hairlocks looking thinner than others.

**** sucks.

I fkn feel you bro my forelock is approaching death currently nw2.5 and if my forelock gets any thinner I am done for. Get on finasteride watch forelock thicken then reap all the benefits

I too feel your pain bruh. I rarely leave the house without a hat anymore. It's why I'm like 99.99% getting a transplant in the next year or two...constant worry of people noticing is just no way to live.

Frontal hair loss is such a pain, my forelock has also taken the biggest impact from balding. I don't think it's even fully understood why treatments don't work as well at the front as they do at the mid-scalp and vertex. Hopefully proper solutions for baldness will legitimately come out with in the next few years considering all the research that's being done on hair loss.

My forelock was quite thick before finasteride :/, was beginning to thin just before I started it though.

I've started wearing hats again, thankfully they are in fashion in my country right now.

I feel your pain, too, two years ago my situation worsened beyond any hope, so i had to buzz my hair. I'm forced to buzz it every two weeks now...

I am dreading buzzing my hair, I can't grow a beard and I have bad shaped head

It is truly the worst part of hairloss in my opinion. I am praying dutasteride will do something about it for me.

Once the forelock begins to thin, it could lead to an "island" forming which will be wispy and lifeless. Basically moving onto Norwood 4 territory. My forelock is still very strong as a Norwood 2.5 but I am getting the entire Norwood 3 area filled. Some forelock reinforcement for sure. It's something you guys should consider depending on budget, donor capacity, finasteride, age blah blah blah. Frontal hair loss is a pain but with thick hair you can cover it easily and also you make excellent hair transplant candidates unlike those aggressive diffusers (if no loss elsewhere/age).

Good luck brahs.

I, too, have a badly shaped head, and I'm horrifyingly skinny, too. But I had no other option, unfortunately.

I wish you luck, bro. Keep us updated.

Sounds like we are in similar positions, I am mad skinny too but I am now trying to gain weight.

That is the point which I really don't want to reach any time soon and I am definitely heading towards it. Just going to hit hairloss with all I have and if that doesn't work I'll split and shave it.

F*cking sucks, my hair is weak AF on my entire head including sides AND upper part of my back.

It has ZERO value other than the appearance of having hair. I can't style it or whatever, it even looks wiry sometimes.

And btw, dutasteride or finasteride or anything for that matter won't give your hair the strength it once had, not even close really. It still will be weak AF and it's still fu*cked up. It might be a LITTLE stronger than before (barely noticable tbh) and that's it.

Yeah I am not really expecting dutasteride to work miracles, just for it to slow down things better than finasteride tbh.

One thing that sucks for those of us with hairline issues is there's not really any kind of viable concealer product to mask our situation(that I'm aware of). If you're anything beyond an NW2 and you dont want to reveal hairloss, you're left at the mercy of acrobatic styling tricks.

You sure about that?
I think dutasteride & estrogen can give someone back what hey once had...plus more.
Anty went past his male hairline to a female hairline. Pops a few pills here n' there:jump:

I'm entering this zone now. I just hit NW3 and now the frontal forelock is thinning considerably.

However I'm using toppik to mask it. It is risky, if someone examines the forelock closely they'll be able to see the concealer on my scalp. That's how thin it's getting.

I had a strong forelock before I started finasteride..
