Hi guys...
I had recently posted some of my hair pics... according to some forum members I don't need to worry nd still I've got plenty of hair....my overall density is fyn.....but hairline has receded badly.....
M on finasteride for like 46 days and on minoxidil for 25days...no noticeable change yet....
If u wanna check my pics plz refer these threads
http://www.hairlosstalk.com/interact/showthread.php/95134-has-losing-of-density-strtd-(video)
As u cn see my hair loss problem is not severe at the moment...m thinking of quiting one out big two fr the momnt
Recently I read some posts sayng finasteride is not good for teenagers to consume... m thinking of quiting it fr the moment...since I've still got density....nd will continue to use minoxidil on my hairline.....and if I notice something like thinning of my hair in future will again strt finasteride.....reason of quitting finasteride nd not minoxidil is that I can't live with this hairline for at least 2-3 yrs(recession has become noticeable)..I want some regrowth..so ryt Norwood my nly prob is hairline......before getting on finasteride I still had same density...and since it's not been many days since I started finasteride I think it's ryt to quit it...forgot to mention that I had no side effects using finasteride...but its just that I don't wanna alter my hormone level at this age....I also have read get on the big 3 as early as possible aftr noticing male pattern baldness...so fr me its kinda confusing
What u guys think m doing ryt or shud I instead quit minoxidil or I shouldn't change my regimen at all....since its a big step kindly you guys have your words.....

IMO you should keep on with finasteride because you OBVIOUSLY have recession. But you could risk it and wait till it gets just a LITTLE worse and maybe age 1 or 2 years so you would be more comfortable with finasteride. IMO if you are over 21 you're good to go on finasteride. Keeping on with minoxidil is a good idea, but dont think it will help you do much, especially with that density you have(very full hair). what you wanna do ultimately is freeze your hairloss, and that is only possible with finasteride.

Main purpose of using minoxidil is that I want regrowth in my hairline region....in previous post experienced guys like doctor house and mpbsux wrote that I don't need to worry at this moment as it could be mature hairline....as soon as i will find that my hair on scalp is also being affected by male pattern baldness I'll jump on it ....but fr the moment only sticking to minoxidil fr hairline...will it b a good deal??
I just captured a pic that do justice with my hair loss situation...

Now what's ur(&other people) say....still its cn be a mature hairline??

One more question ...
I've heard that male pattern baldness comes from ur mom's genes...
But no one is bald in my mother's family....my all uncles and my grandpa have hair....evn al my mums cousins have hair.....no one is bald....so y m I going bald at so early age :(....y god y :'(

All I can see is have faith in your treatments and be positive that you will maintain or improve. If you are not having sides, then that is great. Try not to overthink things too much or you will suffer from more anxiety and depression.

umair, do not get off Finasteride, stay on it so your hair loss won't continue to progress. Definitely keep using Minoxidil.

no offence but that isnt a mature hairline, that is good old male pattern baldness. if you really have no problems staying on finasteride, then stay on. I remember about 6 or 7 weeks ago i was having a great time out with friends, and the thought randomly came to my mind "doesnt finasteride get people depressed? im not supposed to feel this good" and all of a sudden my mood came down and i couldnt enjoy myself as much for an hour or so until i forgot about it. Ever since that experience i realized 99% of my sides are psychological. Dont think you have to be depressed just cause you are on finasteride. Technically if your parents were ever depressed you have more chances of getting depressed in your life, doesn't mean you WILL be depressed.

Side effects won't be hidden if you experience them. Look on the package of your medication and read the side effects.

You have some of the of the most insanely dense hair I've seen, so there's no need to worry about diffusing. You do have very minor temple recession, which is indicative of male pattern baldness. So if you're not experienced sides with finasteride, then I would continue using. Personally I wouldn't be using minoxidil in your position. It won't do much of anything.

It is male pattern baldness :( ........
My body doesn't have any problem staying on finasteride.....but my brain do have some.....wenever I see my frnds nd their hairhair I think...we both are 19 yrs oldold...he's so happy....he has hair wdout taking any kinda risky meds....they're so happy...they're not even thinking about male pattern baldness....they don't even know what male pattern baldness is...everything is going well in their lyf...y life is so unfair...what did I do wrong to it????these thoughts kill me and invites anxiety and depression....I hv been in severe depression fr last months....grades have fallen down drastically....due to depression and stress I evn cry...nd that makes my parents cry....they nd I miss old umair.... :( ....
Plz bro gv some advice to overcome this anxiety and depression...not a single moment passes by when I don't think about my hair...imagining myself getting bald....everything has changed since this evil male pattern baldness came to my life...
Advice needed :(

If you want to lose more hair in the future then drop finasteride. If you want to keep your hair for a long time stay on finasteride. What is important to you?
Definitely I want my hair....
But anxiety and depression getting over me.... :( ....be I've realized its not wise decision
Thank u fr rplyng

I thank God to bless me with this good hair....
But I think wax applied nd long hair making my hair more dense....
Sir will now continue using finasteride....
Sir I apply minoxidil nly on my hairline....viz Norwood 2....nd evrytime I look into mirror it depresses me....so I want some regrowth there to get better on my depression...
I know nw2 is normal....but its definitely not normal fr a guy who just turned into its 19's....so I apply minoxidil on my hairline nly...
Maybe I'll quit it after 3-4 yrs....so evn hair grew by minoxidil will go away....Norwood 2 hairline nd maintained hair fr a 24 yrs old guy is pretty good deal..
BTW one 1 ques cmng to my mind...
If I quit minoxidil will it drag me again at the same position where I was....or it will do more damage??

If you drop something get rid of the minoxidil. Nothing keeps hair but finasteride its not really optional at this point. If you drop or stop finasteride there is nothing you can do anymore but accept male pattern baldness. Nothing else works or can replace it

Yeah Norwood I've realized how fool I was to think to quit finasteride
I can't drop minoxidil too..I apply it only on my hairline..I want some regrowth on my hairline to get my confidence back(badly needed)
I apply it only in night before sleeping..so it is giving me not much trouble....will gv a try....nd I m thinking to quit it after 3-4 yrs...nw2 is good deal for a 23-24 yes old guy...
Wish me luck bro

Your young enough that minoxidil might make a difference. I understand what your saying about finasteride, I'm overly cautious of taking it myself. Only five percent of people get side effects from it. In my own opinion, I think there's at least two genes from both parents that contribute, and it's dominant.
No one is bald frm mum's side....evn my mum's cousins have good hair....so I don't think I've got anything of male pattern baldness frm my mums side..
My two uncles are bald out of four...one recently went bald nd he's around 55....another uncle went bald in his 30s(not completely bald)...but my father evn in his 50s hve dense hair(though he has some recession but definitely better than me..like nw1)...I've seen many of my frnd having good hair evn though their fathers are bald....(so y me???.... :( ....y life is so unfair)....
Evn if I have dominant genes then y it is coming so ealry in my life(life is unfair vry unfair)
Is it sign of aggressive male pattern baldness? :(

Seeing your picture on a bigger screen your density of your hair is pretty insane indeed umair. You got really nice healthy looking hair btw, don't see that often. I'm mirin' brah.

Hey bro, Norwood 2 at 19 is actually very common... if you stay on finasteride just be happy thay you get to go another 10 years with beautiful hair. By the time 10 years comes all your friends will have some sort of hair loss and the decision in weather you want a transplant or to go bald will be alot easier man! Instead of being depressed, be happy thay we got a treatment to put off the inevitable. Remember, maybe your friends have nice hair, but there are people on this forum who would kill for your hair. So don't think you are in the worst situation. My advice is take finasteride and don't even think about being bald for the next 5 to 10 years. Focus on school. I too took a plunge in grades last year but got on finasteride and managed to get my GPA back up. Good luck bro
