Thickening shampoo or conditioner? And use how often?

Does it matter whether you use a thickening shampoo or conditioner? I try to shampoo my hair as little as possible because it makes me hair really light and feathery and impossible to control for days, although conditioner can have the same effect.

Also, how often do you need to use thickening conditioner/shampoo for it to be effective, and is it something you have to use continually or do you just have to use it for a little while to thicken your hair for a longer period of time?

I just stick with a thickening shampoo. It doesn't really matter how often you use it, thats up to you. But if you are going to use a conditioner after you use a thickening shampoo, make sure its an actual thickening conditioner and not a regular one. If it isn't, you will loose the full thickening effect of the shampoo.
