The worst things about being slick bald young

1. Everyone else has more hair than you
2. Every movie, tv show, with very rare exceptions have characters with hair.
3. Not only does everyone look at you like some freak, but you have no self esteem anymore because of how other people perceive you and it only makes things worse.
4. There is no cure. The best cure is prevention but the drugs kill your dick and often times make little difference. There are a thousand other "studies" saying there are Natural remedies but its all snake oil taking advantage of very desperate men. The entire hairloss business feeds on your misery. To make things worse, every month there is an article saying "we are just around the corner to a cure for baldness" or "company xyz has just discovered hair treatment when tested on mice." These articles have been going on for decades and there is still no cure.
5. You have 1 life to live and that life is aging to grampa level very early. No girlfriend, no dates, get harassment from friends who all still have nw1 hair. You don't dare go to any social gatherings because you are the ugly old looking guy who will face harassment.
6. Women view you as worthless. You do not have the ability anymore to physically attract anyone. No gym, clothes, or money could make up for it as it is irredeemable. It's like being short but you got a taste of what it is like to be taller and you lose something. If I had all my hair, I'd be self reliant with a decent physique and good face and I think dating would've been a normal part of my life. But no, I had to be born into excruciating circumstances. I don't even remember what it was like to flirt.
7. Therapy does jack sh*t. Therapists often don't understand how awful people on this forum go through and I think because people in general don't care much, a cure won't be found in a very long time.
8. You now fall in the stereotypical ugly man group. When women describe the ugliest man imaginable they will talk hygiene, weight, face, hair. Norwood 7 bald is a dealbreaker. And I said before that I'd kill to just be nw6 because nw7 the balding happens on the side of your head. It's like an inch down on the sides and dips in the back in a very ugly pattern.
9. Your bad head shape is exposed. As I mentioned before. I plan to save for skull augmentation surgery to smooth out my head. I have researched some doctors but a little hesitant with some bad reviews.
10. You hate life so much that you even understand why women hate you. They wouldn't dare give this God awful gene to their kids and grandkids. Further justifying why you have to live a miserable life and be reminded daily that you are inferior.
11. Wigs are not socially acceptable, but neither is baldness.
12. It is significantly harder to move up in your career.
13. Your family no longer tell you that you look handsome. In the early stages of balding the female family members will push you to save your hair and when it doesn't work they blame you for not trying hard enough.
14. If you try to save hair, you need finasteride which just so happens blocks an important hormone for puberty and so you are stuck taking minoxidil and by the time you finish developing and get on finasteride it's too late, severe damage is done.

Overall, the common theme here is VALUE. When you lose your hair you are no longer a value to women, your employer, your peers...

Even your family doesn't value you. My mother has completely given up on the idea of me and my brother getting her grandchildren. She divorced my bald dad (she foolishly married him before he lost his hair) and doesn't really talk to her 2 sons who are bald. My youngest brother is 27 and nw1 got to live a normal life and my mother tries to set him up all the time but he doesn't really need the help.

Women are the main concerns on this thread and trust me, women are all horrible deep down. They are the selectors and they view us as a threat to damaging their offspring. Think about it. Suppose they have kids and the husband has no bald gene, then the kids are safe but what about grandchildren? It's still possible the grandchildren can be tainted because the child could end up with a bald man and lead to bald grandchildren.

15. Baldness will never leave your mind. It doesn't matter if your going on a date or going drive through McDonalds, being bald will factor into every decision you make.
16. Losing hair is equivalent to losing an arm at war. Think about it. Hairloss will give the same ptsd symptoms that losing an arm at war will. They are both equally important to function.

But hair transplants have come a long way .so it is still a correctable thing.

I agree with all of this there except the idea that women are horrible. Why is it horrible to reject a bald loser? Isn't it totally reasonable to protect the prospects of your future offspring? Isn't the horrible thing that the bald loser had the audacity to consider himself equal to the others with hair and think it possible that he can have a family, kids etc.? I don't know the answer to the question but it's food for thought. The mistake that we made was thinking that we could compare to others with hair. We have a different position in society. It's not necessarily better or worse but different. E.g. it is still important for us to work and keep the economy going and keep taxes coming in etc.

Most are not a great transplant candidate lol.

If you really value your hair, then save it immediately and reverse the balding. male pattern baldness is caused by androgens. ITS CALLED ANDROGENETIC ALOPECIA, face it or not, it's a fact.
why not

most people who bald young have very aggressive hairloss. many surgeons refuse to operate on patients under 30
I just wanted to add my experience here.

Now I didn't really dive into my experience on finasteride. I asked for it at 17 and was denied since I was too young and had me on rogaine. Rogaine can be good on its own if you are a good responder but it's honestly a legitimate supplement for most people and the real prevention is finasteride.

Once I hit 20 I asked for finasteride again and took it. I suffered side effects after a week and just struggled through them. The side effects were subsiding but it really does impact your sex drive. I was on it for 1 year and the hair loss just got worse. I guess I wasn't a responder. After quitting I had issues for a few months but everything was better once dht went up but the hairloss accelerated and started buzzing it to a grade 1.

Shortly after college and once I found employment (thank god) and I saved money for a transplant. I did get consultation from a well respected specialist in my area and I was probably nw5 at the time. He basically told me that I should set my expectations very low and that I would need to be on finasteride for 6 months before surgery since this would optimize my results. I informed him of how 1 year on the stuff only led to more hairloss and side effects. He advised against a hair transplant because long term the results will not be satisfactory.

If you start losing hair right at puberty then hairloss is a battle you will surely lose.

Ironically I think just buzzing it at 16 and not trying to jump through hoops and stress about prevention would have saved a lot of heartache.

Makes me really depressed.

Suffering from it since puberty started... -> for around 3/4 years now.

I think the type of thinking that always hurts me and kills any motivation is the thought that I had only 1 chance at living a good life and my genes made it impossible to live that life. I had control over a lot of things that made me a contributing member of society but not when it came to happiness. Now all I remember in life is how I missed out on life. A life like mine is no life to live and some days I think I would be better off dead.

If you don't have hair then you don't have a life.

True. It's really devastating to know as well that there won't be ever a cure, sh*t.

I am on treatment and I will extend it, slight HRT, will look how far I'll go.

Honestly I think you should have just go for the transplant anyway. why doest it matter what will happen in 15-20 years from now? if you dont have a life (as you say) anyway then what's the point. Just go for a transplant to have your good looks back at least for now, and just hope for the best for the future. Keep trying other treatments or pray for cloning during this time
