The media is driving me insane

I can't stand to watch these shows or listen to this music anymore.

All those TV show characters have a new date every episode.
All those pop songs on the radio are about getting sexed up.
All those movies are about passionate romances.


I feel like I'm an unnatural human being because I have no women, no romance, no love, no sex in my life.

Meanwhile this 'entertainment' industry is shoving man/woman relationships down my throat everywhere I turn.

I feel like I'm being mocked by the media and I feel like my life is a sham everytime I 'tune in'.

Do you know that what's shown in media is basically a fantasy and doesn't have much reflection in real life?

It certainly does reflect true life, at least those around me. I don't watch much tv, but I deal with the same thing around me. All of my friends are getting married and starting families. I'm invited to the weddings and baby showers and I hear about it all on Facebook, the few who haven't settled down are dating around, and here I am.....same ole'

Yes but Travis is right, most of those getting married now will be divorced in 5 yrs time when the reality does'nt live up to the fairytale sold in the movies.

I whole-heartedly agree. That's why I don't follow the modern trends all that much.

I am sick and tired of seeing everybody walking down the street engrossed in their flash phones,not looking where they are going,whilst I am delevering the mail....most people are just brain-dead leemings,led by the media.Everybody wants the latestgadget,gizmo,toy.....god people are just f**king pathetic.

That's all open for speculation, but I was just the best man in my friend's wedding. He's been with his fiance/wife for over 5 years now, another friend got married last year who had been with his wife since 2004, and yet another friend got married 2 years ago, and they had already been together for a year and they have a 1 year old together. And........I'm involved in yet another wedding party a few months from now, that's the only one that's questionable as to whether they'll last simply because I think he's settling.
