What a stupid question, people come here for advice and he directs them to proven treatments. No one is shoving It down anyone's throat, Just cause a forum member says hop on finasteride, doesnt mean the OP has to take it. He's simply saying "if you want to keep what you got, hop on finasteride" which isn't really the wrong advice to give.

If you want to get high, just hop on heroin

Did Nizoral cure your itch?

nizoral is anti inflamatory, anti fungal and a 5AR inhibitor. Its more proven than finasteride and it is normally used to treat/prevent irritable scalp or dandruff so thats why i would recommend it based on your symptoms and the fact that your hair line is good.

By all means "hop on finasteride" but imo that really is stupid considering your situation

Hello everyone, just wanted to update with another photo of what is now obvious temple recession. My question is: where am I on the Norwood Scale?

Here is a shot of my crown after a workout. I'm still suffering from I believe is the DHT itch and my hair is still more limp than it was before all this began, but I'm still able to style it most days, despite it needing a lot more time. Going to see my doctor this coming Wednesday about a private prescription for Finasteride.

Аbsolutely the same crown as mine, except that my hair whorl makes it look worse. I think your crown is great.
The amount of scalp you're seeing is completely normal.

If you were my age (20) i'd be a little bit worried, although it's nothing scary.
I saw somewhere than you're 28, if I had that hair at 28 i wouldn't be worried at all.. keep an eye on it though, you never know what the future brings

Those short strands of hair along your hairline are transitional hairs AKA baby hairs. Some people have them, some people don't. But it's pretty common. They don't indicate balding. It's a completely different thing. Your hairline is still defined and in tact. The density also seems great. I would say that you don't have anything to worry about. It might, might be a maturing hairline at most.

How bad is this now? My scalp is driving me insane and this looks so much worse than my photos in March...?

I don't get why you keep coming back. You have no visible baldness or miniaturisation, but if you really think you do you should get on finasteride as a preventative measure. Otherwise worrying about it is a big waste of time.

Agreed. Stop being paranoid, and enjoy your full head of hear while you still have it. Life is too short to be worried about problems that only exist in your head. Your hairline, and overall density seems to be perfect as of now. Everyone naturally has some degree of imperfection along their hairline. Don't dwell on that. This forum will no longer provide any help to you. If you want to be 100% certain, make an appointment with your dermatologist, or preferably, hair-loss specialist (trichologist), and they will tell you for sure.

Hey Everyone,

Thank you to all that have posted above. I will be starting finasteride when I come back from holiday next month. From reading around, would you agree that this is the best course of action to take:

1. Ask GP for a blood test to measure all relevant hormones before starting.

2. Get a private prescription for propecia

3. Start at 0.5g everyday and see what state my hair is in every 3-6 months.

I appreciate the comments above, however, this scalp itch, shedding and loss of body are noticeable to me and I’d rather see if I can thicken my hair to it’s pre-thinning glory, rather than wait until it’s very noticeable.

Thoughts?
