well, being that the lasercomb has been approved by the FDA (not that it means anything  ), i would say that the lasecomb is going to be added to the "big 3" to make it the "big 4"!!!!

yay!!!....more ammunition to fight "the battle of the blad"!!!!

If you can afford it prescription Proxiphen. It's supposed to have copper peptides, spironolactone, SOD's, growth agents, ect. I just ordered some so i'll keep you updated.

Copper Peptides

"Dermatologic Research Techniques", CRC Press, 1996.

Chapter 16: "Phototrichogram Analysis of Hair Follicle Stimulation: A Pilot Clinical Study with a Peptide-Copper Complex" Ronald E. Trachy, Leonard M. Patt, Gordon M. Duncan, and Bernard Kalis. This was done on *human* subjects with male pattern baldness. Both total and anagen hair density increased significantly (anagen hair: +39%) with the larger topical dose of copper-peptide (glycyl-histidine-lysine-valine-phenyalanine-valine), especially when compared to total and anagen hair density LOSSES in the placebo-treated group.

Chapter 17: "Quantitative Assessment of Peptide-Copper Complex-Induced Hair Follicle Stimulation Using the Fuzzy Rat" Ronald E. Trachy, Hideo Uno, Shelley Packard, and Leonard M. Patt. This was done on rats. Copper peptides significantly stimulated hair growth, compared to vehicle.

Chapter 18: "Evaluation of Telogen Hair Follicle Stimulation Using an In Vivo Model: Results with Peptide-Copper Complexes" Ronald E. Trachy, Erika D. Timpe, Irene Dunwiddie, and Leonard M. Patt. This was on mice. Copper peptides significantly stimulated hair growth in mice, compared to vehicle; it also exceeded the growth induced by 2% topical minoxidil, which was also tested.

Seriously considering adding the Lasercomb to make my Big 5! It should at least bolster the progress I am reaping from already, maybe some faster regrowth and less itchiness. I am goign all out, its just money!

I'm using
finasteride and minoxidil.
I'll add Nizoral soon (again).

My next option is definately adenogen.

If nothing helps I will join the PSI group.

Think the most potent regimen would be:

1. finasteride
2. Proxiphen
3. Nizoral 2%
4. LaserComb

I'm actually thinking of adding the LaserComb when I see the Phase II trial results later this year.
I make my own proxiphen like lotion and its bringing back the vellus baby!

Just ordered the Lasercomb to further compliment my regime. I figure i use enough topicals and finasteride too, so the LLLT is a differnt way to realize added benefits. I figure I will use it at least a few hours after my topicals have absorbed. The next 6 months should be very telling and I hope to stabilize and not worry about my hair for a long time.

Use the lasercomb on a clean scalp, before you apply your topicals. Just some advice!

Are their any studies supporting the efficiacy of the LC ?
I mean studies in peer reviewed journals ... not home made studies.

viperfish, you beat me to the punch line:) I was just going to say that about using the LC on a clean scalp. To be honest, I know that it's a pain in the arse to do every time but in the long run it's working.

Bismarck, there's plenty of that stuff for your perusal and research. Here's just some of the links that I found on different search engines...

I agree with those who talk about the "big five" (sounds like Philly bball).

If I could only choose one treatment, it would be minoxidil. If I could choose two, I would add finasteride. Then Nizoral. Then copper peptides. Then the LC. IMO it's a big step down to anything else.

BTW, potions that include minoxidil, such as Xandrox, Proxiphen and MGF+, I include as minoxidil treatments. They are just variants, possibly more effective (or not), but they're all minoxidil.
