hi guys, i just finished month 2 af splitting MSDs proscar tablets in 1/4s. Ive decided to stop because of really reduced ejaculatory volume, impotence and big time shedding :freaked2:

Would it be a good idea to switch to a lower finasteride dosage? .625mg by cuttin the pills in 1/8s. Or should i just forget about finasteride and use minoxidil instead?

Am also currently using 2% nizoral.

Bye

well from what ive read its after the 1st 3 months that you see the real benefits, so just give it a month more.

yea tha2009, give it a little more time. There are usually(not in all cases) some initial sheddings and sexual side effect usually go away after some times.

shedding can be seen as a strong sign that the medication is working well, shedding usually predcedes regrowth.

sexual side effects also show the medication is working and should subside with time

tha2009 -

Did you just start finasteride or did you change your dosage? This might help to answer the question.

The clinical trials showed that for most people who had sexual side effects they were only temporary and subsided with time, so I would say stick with it a bit longer.

I'd say stop altogether - these side effects can be long-term - some people think they could even be permanent.

I've never heard sexual side effects from Propecia being long-term. Everyone who I've seen complain of them has said they eventually subsided. Don't just throw an opinion out there on your second post stacks.

tha2009, I started finasteride (see my signature for the dosing) 2.5 weeks ago and for the first 10 days I experienced some of the side effects (reduced libido etc.). I think the side effects have subsided now. If you are taking a stronger dose of finasteride, it mat take a bit longer for the side effects to disappear. Good luck.

I got $500 this guy never even returned to read the responses.

But, just for fun, here read the links in my signature as to why lower dosage is probably a good idea
.

I know that I never experienced any sides until one time I tried 1.25mg on the "every other day" criteria. I won't ever do that again, my libido went waaaaaaay down.
