System Just On Crown...how Feasible?

Longtime listener first time caller. Never posted so I apologize if I violate any forum rules or standards!

I am a ways from needing to take action on a system, but I am trying to be proactive. It seems like i have poured through the entire internet but have found very little information on partial systems. I was hoping someone could speak on this if they have experience or insight as to how feasible they are.

My hairline is completely intact but I am almost to a breaking point in the crown. A "partial" system on the crown seems preferable to a full system since you wouldn't have to worry about the lace being exposed.

I know some people do it but was wondering if anyone has experience or insight into how this works. The obvious concerns are whether it would "blend" well with the natural hair when it comes to hair texture/density. I am also unsure if the lace would obstruct the hair where the system sits against the natural hair.

Hi Joe John

This is called a crown topper. I think the reason you haven't found much information about it is because it is so straightforward that there is nothing much to say. Really all you have to do is get a good colour and density match, and you have a low maintenance pretty much completely undetectable solution. The easiest way to get the match right is to send in a sample of your hair, and a photo of the surrounding hair to show the density.

I'm in the exact same situation as you.

Buy a stock system off Northwestlace and get it cut down to the size your crown requires. I'm in the process of doing this now :) The systems look increadble and if it's just on the crown nobody will notice

I was going to and will expand on this in my own thread, as I am literally 15 hours into my first system, but this is exactly what I just got. I was honestly kind of disappointed as it doesn't change my overall appearance that you see with all the systems on this board, but I may have expected too much. I mean it literally just covers my crown, but it does its job and it was nice, for the first time in a very long time waking up and not having to spray on any concealer and I scratched my head and didnt get toppik between my fingernails. My front hair line has thinned over the last year and toward my mid scalp you can still see some thinning, but I feel like this is a terrific jumping off point and will help me move to the fuller systems down the road. Where I can sweep my hair back or run my hand thru like I used to be able to. I'll attach some pics. One is me sitting in the chair, the others are when I got home. When I do my own thread I'll expand and post better pics of the area I needed coverage on. I was kind of surprised as I felt like I had a ton of scalp to cover, then I see the base after he cut it, and it was just this tiny circle.
