Hey guys, i bumped into something that caught my eye ....

"Lactic acid has similar hydrating effects to urea, and also breaks down keratin, which is a protein that forms part of the skin structure."

http://www.netdoctor.co.uk/medicines/100000432.html

Okay, so it known that Lactic Acid is released by your muscles when working out. Thats what gives your muscles that burning feeling. And it is extracted from your body through sweat. Since most of our sweat and heat is lost through our heads, there is prolly a large concentration of lactic acid there.
And since hairs are mostly composed of Keratin protiens, those become destroyed resulting in hair loss.

If this is a possibility, it would explain why i started to go very thin when i began to workout daily, almost a year ago.

What do you guys think? Your opinions are welcome.

(Ohh ... and im not saying people should stop working out .... i think girls prefer guys with a wicked body over hair)

I do notice that I sweat heavily in the hairline, where I do have some loss. However, the middle part of my hair is just untouchable.

Can't say either way. I think it might have a minor topical effect and nothing more.

When I workout, and do a lot of cardio, I sweat pretty badly.

That's when I start to itch, too... I wonder if they're related to hairloss.

it makes some sense as acidic sbstances have the ability to rot organic ones.

Furter research may be needed to make solid conclusions

This seems like an everlasting question - the whole scalp sebum/sweat debate. The general concenus is that scalp sebum has little or no effect on male pattern baldness.
