Success Combining minoxidil Foam and Liquid

I'm wondering what kind of success people have had using the Foam 1x a day and the Liquid 1x a day together?

I'm using Foam 1x per day currently because of bloating caused by 2x a day Foam use. I still see a little bloating 1x a day, but not nearly as much I think. I realize for maximum benefits, 2x a day minoxidil is a suggested so I'm considering adding liquid 1x per day to this regimen.

Has anyone had any success with minoxidil combining both? And has anyone with side effects from 2x a day foam, experienced less side effects with this kind of regimen?

thanks!

I am just using the foam in the am, and Promox or Min Agent in the pm. I notice less bloating now. My skin is looking better too. My hair is definitely getting better now. I am finally happy again with my hair. I realize the biggest mistake I made was cutting down to once per day minoxidil and then stopping it all together. I think you should try the liquid at night and the foam in the am. I have done a study on myself for the past 3 weeks about water retention. It fluctuates day to day which means the foam may contribute very little to the bloating. I think it depends on how many carbs and salt intake I consume. If you want less bloating lower your carbs, lower your salt, sweat alot, and drink lots of water. I am use Dermalogica Age Smart cleanser, toner, and spf30 skin repair, and my skin is looking awesome. Oh and I am using hairchi for a few weeks now and like that stuff too.

Doctor,

Are you using Promox spray, lotion, or foam?

Why'd you opt for that instead of Dr. Lee's stuff?

I have Promox liquid and lotion(very light thin lotion). I use the lotion on the hairline and the liquid with a dropper( the spray is not advisable because it just gets on your hair and dries it up). I use the liquid every other day since the Retin-a can be irritating. The lotion is better because it is less irritating. Lee's stuff is good too but I bought the Promox last year and I had it already. I stopped using it because my hair shed alot with it but it may have been I was just shedding alot at that time anyway. Now I have not had any problems with the Promox. I like the fact that Promox only has 5% minoxidil and finasteride and other ingredients. Lee's Xandrox Plus has 15 % minoxidil. Don't want to become dependent on a high percent and maybe more sides with that too. Another good product is Sinere's nanominox FMS which does not have alot of alcohol in it. It goes on nice too. If I were you, I would put either Proxiphen, Promox or Nanominox FMS on at night and the foam in the am. For some reason my hair always looks its best from February to March and then in the summer it looks terrible. If this summer my hair looks similar to now, I know for sure minoxidil is making a difference for me. Or you can just switch to liquid minoxidil twice per day and see if you do better. You have to experiment to see what works. I have done that and now I know minoxidil twice daily must be part of my treatment. I am not a fan of minoxidil but it helps. If my hair continues to improve like now, I know I don't have to worry about any hair transplants at least for now. And maybe soon we will have something better than what we have now.

My question would be, is it redunant or possibly bad for you to use both. I perfer Foam, but the liquid is cheaper. I was thinking about doing a back and forth thing or doing am liquid and pm foam.

Any studies or stories about using both to be problematic?

Well, I've heard good stories from a couple of people on here regarding combining foam/liquid and I'm just starting the combo now....so fingers crossed.

I finally got my hands on my rogaine foam yesterday and applied it for the first time last night. Seems weird, I spread around a capful of it all over the top, front and part of the back and it dried within 20-30 minutes, also there was a lack of irritation on my scalp and there still is now...

I know this is par for the course with the foam but my paranoia is going to kick in that I’m not applying it in the right way or doing it quite right! But, if it stays like this, I’m hopeful that it’ll actually improve the condition of my hair and scalp as I won’t be drilling my fingers into it so much to scratch.

So from today, it’s 2x applications of minoxidil a day (foam in the day, liquid in the night) and I’m keeping my fingers crossed for a big improvement in the next couple of months. Hopefully I’m not being too optimistic.
