study dutasteride vs. finasteride (Bryan)

when you say that 1mg of finasteride catches up to dutasteride, is this with reference to .5mg dt or the full2.5 dose. Do yo mind if I ask which studies show these figures? Cheers

The 0.5mg dose. There was a study with 17 sets of identical twins. It reproduced the dutasteride 6 month results, but the 1 year results were not much better than the 6 month. They were as high as propecia. Yes, that is only 34 people. But they were identical twins. And only about half or maybe 2/3 of them were able to correctly guess who (him or his brother) was on placebo.

In the phaseII results, hair counts between Proscar, dutasteride 0.1mg/day, and dutasteride 0.5mg per day were different. But observers said there was not a noticable cosmetic difference. the dutasteride 2.5mg group had a very noticeable cosmetic difference.
