25 yo. In 2 years lost around 65% density

didnt get on any meds earlier, since i just couldnt believe i can have such fast paced male pattern baldness with no family tree hair loss genetics whatsoever

i was doing perfectly fine at 23 and in 2 years it went down the drain

what are my chances for regrowth at this point?

Get on finasteride bro. Do people notice your thinning hair?

Why so?
My derm said minoxidil can postpone slickbald state to 10 more years

That is complete bullshit. If you don't want to take finasteride atleast start using CB, RU or maybe try zix, eventhough you are probably too late to try experimental stuff. Otherwise you will have to shave it off in <2 years.

well, these pictures are extremely exposing, with oily hair that sticks together. normally i style it and stir it up for it to not create such bald spots. so far im close to the point where balding will be visible irl, but so far i dont think you can notice it except for obvious norwooding of hairline that happened, since i was like nw1 and now im like nw3

Bro the way you text here, I'm afraid you'll jump off a fuckin bridge if you only start minoxidil and experience some shed. minoxidil won't safe you in the long run but finasteride can

The 2 pics of you at 18, it looks like your hairline already receded a bit? Or is your natural hairline a NW2ish since before balding? If I was you I would get on both finasteride and rogaine yesterday. Minoxidil won't buy you 10 years of hair man unfortunately that is being too hopeful. The truth is even with finasteride a good amount of people can fall below baseline but your chances of atleast maintaining increases.

I have a strong feeling that you were balding very slowly for a long time ( more than 5 years) and it became just noticeable to your eyes in recent times. Are you dropping a ton of hairs in the showers?

Also, if you look far enough in your family history you will find one random motherfucker who balded early. It could even be some fucked up distant sh*t like your great grandfathers dad or something. Either that or you are adopted.

basically you are correct, my natural hairline was not straight but kind round due to forehead shape, so was kinda looking like nw2, but it wasnt receded, it was full, now my temples are receded.

also i started losing hair very very slowly when i was 19 i think (so balding for 6 years, 4 very slowly and since 2 years it sped up a lot for whatever reason), whenever id let my palm through my hair, several hairs would fall. i thought it was because of seborheic dermatitis for very long time, untill 2 years ago i realized im legit balding.

im dropping around 200-250 hairs in the shower every time. thats why i lost 65% density in 2 years. i lost insane amounts of hair.

still didnt get on meds cuz was scared shitless of sides, but not as it was allways happenes, i realize i value hair more.

ill have to try to delve deeper into my males family tree history, but no1 had premature hair loss. my father is balding hard at 65, but he had perfect density. both grand fathers had full head into 70s.

Jump on the Finasteride before it gets any worse The longer you leave it the more you will regret not getting on it earlier.

Yeah 200-250 hairs is a lot. I am dropping around there 100-150 per shower now. Before finasteride I was losing over 500 hairs just in the showers. I got on finasteride right away and yet I am still below baseline so its not a miracle drug. Thats why you gotta get on it as soon as possible because even finasteride doesnt guarantee your hair being saved. You might get sides or you might not there is no guarantee there but if you only use minoxidil theres almost a 100% chance of being a baldie in the next 10 years.

I agree, you really should start taking action now if you hope to save what you have. You don’t want to end up a year down the line, with significantly less hair, asking yourself: what if.

how does it work then? your minoxidil grown hair will fall out too huh?
yeah, in showers at worst points i can shed up to 300 hairs. its extremely depressing and scary feeling that leaves you standing there like cancer patient on meds

most of the people here would disagree
apparently

to be frankly honest im already at this stage, because my hair already looks diffused and ugly, even ~1.5-2 years ago it was much better norwood and density wise. now i gotta try to at least save what's left.

You can either go on finasteride, which will probably just maintain and show slight regrowth or you can go on other regimens which can legitimately show significant regrowth! And for some individuals, finasteride eventually stops working and you're back at square one.

There are a few options, from what I have seen, which can stop hair loss and regrow hair (I will also link the posts which show examples):

Dutasteride + Spironolactone: [Click Here]

Or, there are regimens which transgender people usually use, here is a study you can read on that: [Click Here]

This post is highly interesting, and it showcases many success stories when it comes to regrowth [Click Here]

Here is a website explaining estradiol and the effectiveness [Click Here]

Here is the same website explaining spironolactone and its effectiveness [Click Here]

Although, the more hair you gain the more side effects you will possibly get. It would be a shame if you went bald, especially since you have such a beautiful hair colour... With some of these regimens, you are risking your 'masculinity' though (especially the more extreme ones)... But, we don't live in a perfect world so sometimes you have to take risks to have what you want.
