So Is It Time To Change My Regimen?

Ok i been on Finasteride since November 2017 and i can't say its helped. it hasn't slowed down my loss at all. maybe its lowered my testosterone abit i ain't totally sure tbh. i don't have any high testosterone symptoms.

also using Spectra.dnc.n (with nanoxidil - said to be a minoxidil alternative) for over a month and i dunno whether i am shedding due to it as i am still watching my hairline get thinner by the week.

Also started using tropical spironolactone 2% for the last week or so thinking i may need a topical blocker to go in my regimen and somehow my hair looks even more like crap. i think its sped up my loss abit in the last week. also gives me a mild scalp itch but i dunno whether thats due to the alcohol in it.

Also stopped using Nizoral because it made my hair look like crap and didn't help either.

Basically nothing is stropping the hairloss, whether its just a long shedding period or normal receding i just dunno.

I been thinking about that recently. i just don't wanna stop finasteride unless i am totally sure...

i fear changing to dutasteride would be like stopping the clock and restarting. wish there was a way to measure normal hairloss vs shedding period.

At Norwaad 4 you may as well throw everything but the kitchen chram at it. I'd go duta, dermaroller, 2% ketaconazole and minoxidil for 6 months as a last resort before succumbing to a bald fate

this is hardly throwing the kitchen sink. More like throwing a slightly bigger stone at that steel wall

OP you need to wait another 2-3 years to be able to tell if finasteride works or not

because you cant tell if a treatment is working right away or not lmao. People who preach that are so stupid.

You need to go on a hugely aggressive regiment rn if you want any chance to regrow your hair. Check my thread in the anti androgens section.

topcial spironolactone wont work because spironolactone need to be metabolized by your liver to turn into an active anti androgen. Its a prodrug

Would you recommend estrogen supplement and/or chemical castration at this point my bruvva?

hmm, Im not sure if you're mocking me with this post lol. Sounds like you are

if thats the case, op is already considering topical spironolactone all Im saying is topical spironolactone cannot work because it is not active until it turns to its metabolites. So you need to use an anti androgen that is active in its base form. And of course if you add very small dosages of estradiol topically they will be a huge help

When i first started using Finasteride it was quite an experience. i was emotional for the first week and had an itchy scalp in the thinning areas which sped up the hair loss. so i switched to one every other for the last 6 months.

Since i never had an itchy scalp pre-finasteride having got one while taking it instead i dunno whether products like Finasteride work in a positive way for me

I been using Finasteride for so long now that i can't remember what my pre-finasteride receding was like. for all i know its more faster then i was pre-finasteride

I am tempted to go for dutasteride and try it out... scary stuff.

Well i decided i am gonna try and order some Dutasteride if i can get past the prescription stuff (which is a pain).

I have added a saw palmetto supplement with nettle and beta the last few days along with Finasteride to see what happens and so far its just given me a very mild tickle itch in receding areas every so often... which is concerning since i never had a scalp itch pre any of these DHT blockers while for most people the itch seems to stop because of them. maybe DHT blockers just make it all worse for me :/

I am losing hair fairly quickly these days.

I am losing hair so rapidly within these last few days that i am official scared. its at a point that was trying hard to avoid it ever getting too and its just nothing but shed

Maybe its because i only recently added saw palmetto or spironolactone 2% as a desperate effort but i can't believe how bad it got within a few days.
