There is some recession in the hairline but the rest of the hair seems absolutely fine.

Now is an excellent time to start Finasteride 1MG, with a doctors approval.

I do not recommend Dutasteride as it is generally not FDA approved for hairloss and the side effects if they present will likely be more pronounced than with Finasteride.

Therefore, There is no point in using a stronger drug like Dutasteride without seeing if finasteride 1MG keeps your hair with minimal side effects first.

If I'm being honest, just take dutasteride. It isn't that much stronger than finasteride, and inhibits more DHT... Also, it is apparent that you are an NW2.5/NW3 which is concerning considering you're nineteen...

Most people will not suffer side effects that are permenant or particularly problematic.

Fina or Duta it's up to you, but now is absolutely the time to start taking them, better now than wait for your hairline to recede further and then panic and start taking them.

I still lost hair on finasteride, that's a year of hairloss i won't get back, i would personally jump on dutasteride but im sure most would disagree. I should add i got the exact same sides on dutasteride as i did on finasteride, just a reduction in libido, no mental effects.

was the change to dutas helpful? any truth to the hairline destroying mythology of dutas?

Yeah switching to dutasteride was definitely helpful, i was worried about the hairline destroying stories too but my hairline is fine, im not that bothered by my hairline tbh, it's mostly my crown and diffuse thinning on top, my hairline isn't NW0, but it's decent enough, not something i worry about too much.

cool- makes me feel more excited than anxious about making the switch.
