Is it the root? Does this mean anything? It doesn't look as though the hair is getting thinner towards the root end. But they have lost pigment plus they fall out from just running my hand through my hair which I can't imagine is a good thing

Thanks

Was there any blood? From what i've read, if there's blood then it could be the root.

How long ago was the procedure...research suggests after 10 days theyve taken root.

Those are telogen hairs. This means the hairs were shed through the telogen phase (normal phase where hair sheds). These are the hairs that have stopped growing and will sit in your scalp for 2-3 months as they slowly losen and fall out. The typical person loses 50-100 of these per day, usually while showering, combing, styling hair, etc.

Now, this does not mean the shedding is normal, just that the type of shedding. The amount of hair being shed is what you should worry about.

Yeh, I always have shed quite alot of hair for as long as I can remember, but never from just running my hand through my hair though. That only started after I started taking finasteride. Just hoping miniaturised hairs aren't replacing them.

I'm not sure what you mean, I haven't had any type of procedure

Apparently finasteride causes increased shedding after a few months of taking it before stopping again. This is probably what you are seeing.
