I haven't tried Scalp Med, but if you are interested in it you might want to check out Joe the Zix guy's page...

http://www.qdbd.com/hair_loss_treatment_1.htm

Scalp Med is pretty pricey, and Joe sell an additive called "minomuck" for about $35 that lasts a year, and it transforms ordinary minoxidil into something very similar to scalp med. It also tells you how to make it yourself, but the problem is you can't really find small quantities of pure beta-sis... you'd have to buy a crapload of it.

I have tried the "minomuck" without the minoxidil (I put it in Zix instead), and I really liked it and had benefits with it. I'm not currently using it only because I'm testing a couple of other products, but I'll probably be back to it at some point.

Its a rip off. According to Joe (http://www.qdbd.com/hair_loss_treatment_1.htm) its minoxidil with Saw palmeto and beta sitosterol (thought to be the active ingredient in Saw which blocks DHT formation in the scalp or some such) and a few other ingredients which do nothing much. I just juse the minomuck additive (Saw and beta sis) Joe sells. Can really go wrong for the price.
