Do you mean that they included so many formulas in their patent that there is no way to tell what they are actually using? Still it seems strange. No info on the exact formula or the exact numbers of hair grown in their studies. I really hope that the reason why they are so mysterious is because they have something really good..
Or maybe I am jut missing pieces of information?

I think there's more to this situation than Congress's ineptitude. It looks like Samumed's decisions about SM04554 are based on the timeline of the Cures Act.

On this page Samumed states the objectives of the supplemental phase 2 study and here they are:

"This study will assess the safety, tolerability, and efficacy of SM04554 at concentrations of 0.15% and 0.25%. Improved knowledge of the changes in hair counts and immunohistochemical analysis associated with androgenetic alopecia (Androgenetic Alopecia) before and after treatment with SM04554 and compared to placebo may lead to a greater understanding of the underlying mechanisms of action of SM04554." (Underline by me)

They're seeking biological data about how the drug works and what it does in the body. Keep in mind that part of the 21st Century Cures Act says that drug companies can submit biological data in lieu of doing a phase 3 study. In other words, some of the data Samumed is going after with its' supplemental phase 2 study is the exact kind of data that the 21st Century Cures Act would allow a company to submit in lieu of doing a phase 3 study. It looks to me like Samumed may be gearing up to try to submit biological data in lieu of doing a phase 3 study.

It looks to me like they're saying the problem is BOTH democrats and republicans but I guess maybe you read a different article than the one in the link.

Anyway, I did leave a VM on her phone message system and I sent her an email. I don't think they care about our VMs or emails though unfortunately.

It's interesting that Samumed is the first presenter and that the conference is for "groundbreaking" dermatological science.

I'm not saying this means that Samumed is definitely a breakthrough but it does seem like these are
positive signs.
