I always recommend patients to require to be shown the exact graft count broken into single, doubles, etc grafts, and where they are being placed. The staff is required to chart this information anyway so you're only asking for something they are supposed to be doing.
Back when you had your initial procedures, most of the clinics did not disclose any of this.
What I experienced here in the UK literally is a world away from the standard of surgeries you know about.
These clinics are run by conmen they employ sales peopleand their surgeons are completley incompetant they barely know the basics. You just get charged for a set amount eg 1000 or 1500 grafts. They simply cut a small strip and thats whatever you get if you have good donor density maybe you'll get 400 if not maybe as little as 200.
They rely on attracting naive customers with their newspaper and magazine ads. Most of their clients dont even know how the surgery works and thats exactly how they prefer it.
I have to admit I was totally clueless and was taken in like a lamb to the slaughter. I just put my trust in them as professionals and believed that they were there to help people who were suffering from this distressing situation.
In fact all they care about is getting as much money out their victims as possible.
Hopefully due to the rise in available information on the internet and forums like this one they are being exposed for what they are and less and less people are being butchered and these people are suffering financialy.
