I posted a cpl weeks ago 2 weeks on Rogaine and chest pain... Well i stopped for a few days, and chest pain is gone it seems. Im only using a pea sized amount 1 time a day on each temple . My temples have thinned and i want to stop. I know i Shouldn't have started, but i did so here i am... Im 34 and still have that young boy rounded hair line with just a lil thinning at temples. Propecia is working for me and i was hesitant to add minoxidil. Now my temples are almost gone and i hate it and im scared to use it anymore. Its causing me to worry about shedding and hair loss again. Its not worth it imo. SO... Whatever hair Rogaine made shed, it will return in a cpl months right?? Ive only used it about 3 weeks. Someone else has had to of done this. And any Rogaine alternatives out there? Emu oil or other natural oils? I just want my hair from a month ago and ill just stick with Propecia from Now on

There is no alternative.
i know there is nothing that works well, just wondering if anyone had even minor improvement with castor, emu etc. I know it probably seems petty of me whining about my temple shed. But it does bother me a bit and honestly i just don't want to have to worry anymore about hair loss. Thats why i finally just got on Propecia. What do you think fred? Should i just stop the Rogaine now, since im so worried about it, or keep using it for 4-6 months and see? My biggest fear is its gonna creep into my healthy hair and screw up all the good Propecia has done

Are you actually getting chest pain from that sliver of rogaine foam?

I've literally heard it all.

At this point; stigma would say that Rogaine Foam @ 5% gives worst sides than Oral minoxidil @ 50mg
People need to stop whining. seriously

"Oh NO!, my penis stopped working because I use Rogaine on my hairline!" o_O
Dude, seriously?

Dude, seriously?

Sonic is on a lot of medications, so he may be more vulnerable to side effects.

like i said in my other posts im tapering off methadone... My blood pressure was high and abnormal and yes the lil sliver added to it or it seemed to and i was using more at first. I take Propecia with no sides so *!%$ off, how bout that? Just because something doesn't affect you, doesn't mean it doesn't affect someone else. So in your logic, since my dick works great on finasteride, everyones always does. There are never any side effects from finasteride, period. I just wanted a lil Rogaine advice thats all. I wish i never started or shed but i did. So i was looking for; "yeah man your cool, itll grow back. Or it only effects the spots you apply it" you know? Lil support like, isnt that the point of this whole thing. My bad my problems aren't what you think they should be....

Not so much anymore. I stopped going down on methadone and im feeling better w everything. And thats why im only using a pea sized amout now. Just to be on the safe side. At first i was using probably about a third of the cap total. Still a very small amout, i know. I never thought for a sec id have side effects from minoxidil, and i still cant say it was for sure the minoxidil, but i did have actual chest/heart pain discomfort and it was enough for me to come on here and embarrass myself talking about minoxidil side effects... I knew id catch sh*t but i was hoping for a few ppl to tell me their minoxidil experience so id at least know what to expect on the hair and shedding front

What I've read casually is that some people, if they put in too much minoxidil (say 15%), they can feel their heart racing or their veins on their neck pumping. I've never heard of chest pain though.

I'm sorry to say, but it may simply be too difficult for you to adjust multiple medications at a time. You might want to adjust them one at a time with at least a two-week period in between, so as to know what causes which side effects.

yeah the methadone taper causes you mild/Moderate opiate withdrawal symptoms so it is hard to say for sure What's doing what. Im just nervous about Minoxidil screwing up my hair really. I read so many people claming it "Ate" There hairlines and things like that. idk its distressing. Two things in life cause me anxiety; un known health issues and hair loss. Idk why but thats it. Everything else i can deal with totally fine, these two things just cause my mind to obsess and worry irrationaly

Ever tried tricomin? Anyone? It did go through phase 2 fda trials at least. Un sure why it Didn't complet phase 3. Expense or just lack of results or a lil of both. I just need to hear some good things about Rogaine instead of all this negative stuff. Like i said hair and health cause me anxiety ...

And once and for all: Does Minoxidil only affect the area its applied to? I would think this is the case but others say it can go systemic somewhat and cause unwanted hair growth in strange places... So in theory couldn't affect the entire scalp?? This is my true fear not just the tiny temples shed

if you drop rogaine , will the healthy hair non affected by dht will fall too? I'm only applying rogaine on my hairline , so if i uit , will my mid scalp fall too ? given the fact that i was on propecia before for 2 years and that area is unafected by male pattern baldness. SO will rogaine worsen male pattern baldness?

I don't know the exact science behind it, but minoxidil only has an effect where DHT is the underlying cause of hairloss

Lol, I wasn't talking sh*t about you in particular. I was just ranting about how people most likely pull side effects out of their ***

i gotcha and after i sent that i thought it was a bit harsh on my end. So i apologize man, for real. Hair loss really stresses me out somtimes... And i know some things ppl say seem ridiculous on here, and for real i even thought it was crazy and impossible Rogaine could do this to me. Now i seem ok using a tiny amount 1x per day just on temples. But also my body has stabilized on my methadone dose so Rogaine may have had nothing to do with it. Again i apologize for "jumping down your throat" that was a bit much on my part, no hard feelings my man -Anthony

This is my fear as well. Anyone have experience with this? I dont want all my hair minoxidil dependant. Thats what the finasteride is for

If you get serious minoxidil sides, try looking into alternative growth stimulants. Adenogen and castor oil for example, probably wont grow hairs, but can thicken and strenthen existing ones. It's helped me get rid of those thinner half-length hairs along the temples and let them grow in to a proper length to blend with the hairline better.

thanks for the tip; Ive heard anecdotal reports of emu , castor oil etc. Helping hair lines. I used emu oil daily for a couple years as a preventative measure and of course i ended up on Propecia at 34 but, who's to say it didn't help a lil as i still have 90-95% Of my hair. I do think the emu oil improved the health and condition of my hair though. Never used castor. Almost bought it once

As an update i seem to be tolerating my lil minoxidil amounts just fine now. Even the itching from it stopped and i think the shedding may be done as well( finger crossed) LOL i knew the shed would happen, but when it actually did, i thought "Oh sh*T what did i do?!" i started freaking out thinking out that Rogaine is gonna destroy my hair. That is kinda dumb lol it has been fda approved for hair loss for 20 years and really the tiny amount im using is not gonna go systemic and "overtake" my freakin my hair follicles LoL hair loss makes me a total worry wart nut case somtimes HAHA
